Proxifier proxy setup
Proxifier sends programs that have no proxy setting of their own through a proxy. Add the gateway once, then decide with rules which programs use it.
- Protocols
- SOCKS version 5 and HTTPS (Proxifier's name for an HTTP proxy with CONNECT), both with username and password
- UDP
- Not proxied: Proxifier carries TCP only. Version 4.11 and newer can log and block UDP
- Where the setting is
- Profile → Proxy Servers (Proxifier 4 for Windows)
- Works with
- Residential and mobile proxies
Before you start
- Proxifier 4 for Windows (4.14 is current). The steps follow its manual. Proxifier 3 for Mac has no online manual yet, so its menus may differ.
- Your proxy login and password from the Residential or Mobile page of the dashboard.
- Traffic on the product you use: a login without traffic is refused.
- Host
gate.aeonproxy.com- Port (HTTP / HTTPS)
7000- Port (SOCKS5)
7001- Login
- your proxy login, with targeting keys if you need them:
LOGIN-cc-us-sid-abc123 - Password
- your proxy password
Copy the login and password from the Residential or Mobile page of the dashboard; the generator there also writes ready lines. Key syntax: targeting and sessions.
Add the proxy
- Open Profile → Proxy Servers and click Add.
- Address:
gate.aeonproxy.com. Port:7001. Protocol: SOCKS version 5. - In the authentication part of the dialog, turn on username and password and enter your login (with keys if you need them, for example
LOGIN-cc-us) and your password. - Click Check to test the proxy (see below), then OK.
- Proxifier asks whether to use this proxy by default. Yes sends every program through it; No keeps programs direct until you add rules in Profile → Proxification Rules (action Proxy).
- Optional: in Profile → Name Resolution, turn off Detect DNS settings automatically and turn on Resolve hostnames through proxy. Host names are then looked up at the exit, not by your own network.
Prefer port 7000? Pick HTTPS, not HTTP. Proxifier uses the name HTTPS for an HTTP proxy that tunnels connections to any port (its manual also calls it a CONNECT proxy), and that is what port 7000 is. The HTTP type carries only plain web pages on port 80 and stays off until you enable it in Profile → Advanced → HTTP Proxy Servers.
Check the proxy
Check in the proxy dialog opens Proxy Checker (also under View → Proxy Checker). It connects to a test host through the gateway and reports whether that worked and how fast the proxy answered.
Then open /ip-checker in a browser that a rule sends through the proxy. The IP and country should be the exit's, not yours.
Rotating or sticky
Every connection a program opens becomes its own connection to the gateway, so with a rotating login (LOGIN-cc-us) each one leaves from a different IP. That suits checkers and scrapers, not sites you sign in to. For those, use a sticky login:
LOGIN-cc-us-sid-desk01-ttl-60All connections with the key desk01 keep one exit for up to 60 minutes, then move to a new IP in the same country.
UDP and QUIC
Proxifier carries TCP only. UDP from proxified programs (QUIC in browsers, voice calls, games) leaves from your own IP. Proxifier 4.11 and newer can block UDP connections; browsers then fall back to TCP, which goes through the proxy. The same version added Profile → Advanced → DNS and IP Leak Prevention Mode, one switch for its leak-prevention settings. If an app needs UDP through the proxy, use v2rayN in Tun mode or ProxyCap.
If it does not work
| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
| Proxy Checker reaches the proxy, but the test fails | The login, the password, or a key in the login that is not in the lists (a misspelled city, for example). Also check that the product has traffic left. |
| Proxy Checker cannot connect to the proxy | Address gate.aeonproxy.com, port 7001 with SOCKS version 5 or 7000 with HTTPS, and that a firewall or antivirus lets Proxifier connect out. |
| /ip-checker shows your own IP | No rule covers the browser, the Default rule is set to Direct, or the page came over QUIC. Block UDP or turn QUIC off in the browser. |
| One site or a mail port never connects | Blocked by default: mail ports 25, 465, 587 and 2525, .gov / .mil sites, some banking and ticketing sites (limits, Acceptable Use Policy, section 4). |
Questions
Yes. Add the gateway once per sticky key (LOGIN-sid-app1, LOGIN-sid-app2), label each entry under Advanced, and make one rule per program.
Only when Resolve hostnames through proxy is on, or when the automatic mode turns it on because local DNS fails. Turn it on yourself if lookups should happen at the exit.
