Desktops lead, and Bing has 18.43% of their searches

The dollar sign on a Cape Verdean price tag means escudos
Alou prints a Samsung Galaxy A26 at 36.999$00 and calls at 0$45 a second. The sign sits where a decimal mark would, and the point marks thousands, so those are 36,999 escudos and 0.45 of an escudo. Banco de Cabo Verde’s table for 5 November 2026 has the US dollar at 97.764 to buy and 97.966 to sell, which means a parser that reads the sign as dollars is out by a factor of about 98.
Other sites write the same currency differently. Nha Kretxeu has 2 150,00 CVE. Cabo Verde Airlines has 10,693.00, and its menu offers both “$ CVE” and “$ USD”. Imobiliaria.cv lists a commercial space on Maio at 50 000 cVE.
The central bank’s euro line reads 110.265 for buying and for selling, which puts the Galaxy at about 336 euros. Store the raw price, the currency and the seller’s country together before you compare a local shop with a Portuguese one.
Cabo Verde’s data protection law and Article 6 on illicit access
Law 133/V/2001, amended by Law 41/VIII/2013 and Law 121/IX/2021, governs personal data, and the Comissão Nacional de Protecção de Dados (CNPD) enforces it. DLA Piper’s summary says processing needs prior registration with the CNPD or its authorisation, and that misuse can bring up to two years in prison or a fine of up to 240 days. A name or phone number in an ad is personal data, so keep prices and places and drop those fields.
Article 6 of the cybercrime law, Law 8/IX/2017 (Boletim Oficial I Série No. 13, 20 March 2017), punishes intentional access to a computer system without legal permission or the owner’s authorisation with up to one year in prison or a fine of up to 120 days. A breach of security rules raises that to three years or a fine; learning trade secrets or protected confidential data, or a considerably high gain, to one to five years. Article 2’s definitions have no term for a proxy or a VPN, and neither word appears in the Portuguese text. The regulator’s site would not open, so we have not read the electronic communications rules. Betting and gambling sites are not supported.

Mobile exits use them where the pool has them, and the order page shows availability. Household lines sit on the same two networks, and a login cannot choose between them, since network keys are a US, UK and German option.

Alou uses the sign as a decimal mark for the escudo, so 36.999$00 is 36,999 escudos, about 336 euros at the central bank’s rate. Parse the number first, as the Python tab does, then convert.
The cybercrime law has no rule on proxies or VPNs, and DLA Piper’s data law summary mentions none. We could not read the telecom rules, as the regulator’s site would not open. Article 6 of Law 8/IX/2017 covers access without permission, and the data law covers personal details. Not legal advice.
