Prices and listings on Shopee, momo and 591

Shopee is the ninth most visited site in Taiwan and heads Similarweb’s e-commerce list for September 2026, ahead of momo (21st overall), 7-11.com.tw (39th) and Coupang (48th). PChome stands 31st. Ruten, fourth among marketplaces, mixes new and second-hand goods, and both momo and Yahoo’s mall offer pick-up at convenience stores.

591 tops the real estate category and advertises more than 80,000 rentals, 320,000 resale homes and 5,000 new-build projects; 8891 tops vehicles. For jobs the order is 104, then 1111.

Yahoo is large here: yahoo.com is fourth among all sites and news.yahoo.com twelfth. ptt.cc, a bulletin board you can read on the web without an account, comes 14th and dcard.tw 15th.

Where available, exits also come from Banqiao, Zhongli, Hsinchu, Chiayi, Keelung, Yilan, Hualien and Taitung. Region fields in lookups say little. We ran 40 random addresses from eight Taiwanese networks’ announced ranges through ipinfo.io on 3 November 2026, outside our gateway: 29 gave the region as “Taiwan” and eight as “Takao”, those with Kaohsiung as the city. Go by the city field, then open the exit in our IP checker, since databases disagree on towns.

Networks

HiNet and three phone networks, then kbro, Homeplus and TBC

Chunghwa Telecom’s two networks reach 51.07% of users on APNIC’s Taiwanese list, 33.71% on HiNet and 17.36% on its mobile network. Home broadband outside HiNet is shared among firms such as kbro, Homeplus and TBC. Exits come from homes and phones on these networks.

Users: APNIC Labs, 1 November 2026, 60-day window; TWM Broadband adds three ASNs, and its IPv6 figure is that of AS24164. IPv6: APNIC’s per-network table to 2 November 2026. Hosting and cloud networks and the academic network TANet are left out. Chunghwa reported 4.47 million broadband subscribers on 30 June 2026, 3.82 million of them on HiNet. Network keys are offered for the US, the UK and Germany only, so a Taiwanese exit’s network shows in its ASN.

Mobile

Taiwanese mobile proxies and the three phone networks

The market went from five operators to three after the regulator approved two mergers on 18 January 2023: Far EasTone with Asia Pacific Telecom, Taiwan Mobile with Taiwan Star. Chunghwa put its share of mobile revenue at 41.2% for the second quarter of 2026; that figure counts revenue, and the regulator’s subscriber tables would not open for us. Bars show each network’s share of users on APNIC’s list; mobile exits use them where the pool has them, and the order page shows availability.

For developers

Keep an exit only on the network you want

A Taiwanese login has no network key, so this script opens sessions on -cc-tw, tests the place first and keeps the first exit whose ASN is on your list. That session lasts 30 minutes.

import requests, uuid
GATE = "gate.aeonproxy.com:7000"
# The login picks Taiwan as a whole. ipinfo.io often prints the region as "Taiwan" or
# "Takao", so go by the city field, and map spellings such as Chang-hua.
CITY = {"Chang-hua": "Changhua"}
HOME = {"AS3462": "HiNet", "AS38841": "kbro", "AS9416": "Homeplus", "AS131596": "TBC"}
MOBILE = {"AS17421": "Chunghwa", "AS24158": "Taiwan Mobile", "AS9674": "Far EasTone"}

def exit_on(networks, tries=12):
    for _ in range(tries):
        sid = uuid.uuid4().hex[:8]
        proxy = f"http://ap_a1b2c3-cc-tw-sid-{sid}-time-1800:PASS@{GATE}"
        try:
            geo = requests.get("https://ipinfo.io/json", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=15).json()
        except requests.RequestException:
            continue # no answer: next session
        if geo.get("country") != "TW":
            continue
        name = networks.get(geo.get("org", "").split(" ")[0])
        if name: # this exit stays for 30 minutes
            return proxy, name, CITY.get(geo.get("city"), geo.get("city"))
    return None, None, None

proxy, network, city = exit_on(HOME)
if proxy:
    print(network, city, proxy)

Pass MOBILE instead of HOME to look for phone networks. Each failed try uses a little traffic, so widen the list if a small network keeps missing. -time- accepts 60 to 21600 seconds.

A Taiwanese quirk

Yahoo and Bing take a third of desktop searches

Across all devices Google held 80.02% of Taiwanese searches in October 2026. Desktops look different, with Yahoo and Bing together at 32.64%, while phones, behind 56.85% of page views, stay mostly with Google. Rank checks run only on Google from a phone miss those desktop results.

Personal data and computer crime rules in Taiwan

The Personal Data Protection Act was last amended on 11 November 2025 and names a Personal Data Protection Commission as its authority; on 3 November 2026 that body’s site still carried the name Preparatory Office. Article 19 lets a business collect or process personal data only for a specific purpose and on a listed basis, one being data the person has manifestly made public or that was publicised legally. Article 47 sets fines of NT$50,000 to NT$500,000, and Article 41 allows up to five years in prison where unlawful gain or harm is intended and someone is harmed.

Criminal Code Article 358 covers entering another person’s computer through their password, cracked protection or a system loophole (up to three years), and Article 359 obtaining, deleting or altering its records where that causes injury (up to five years). Article 363 makes both prosecutable only on complaint. Neither the Code nor the Act sets a rule for proxy or VPN use itself; the telecom regulator’s site would not open for us, so its rules are unread. Article 266 fines gambling over the internet up to NT$50,000, and we do not support gambling sites.

Taiwan proxy questions

A Taiwan proxy passes your traffic through a Taiwanese home or phone connection, which gives you a Taiwanese IP address. Shopee, momo and Yahoo then answer as for a local visitor, which helps when you check your own listings and ads, compare prices or read local search results.

We quote no figure, since no per-country count is published for Taiwan. Taiwanese home connections are in the pool, and phone exits use Chunghwa, Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone where the pool has them. The order page shows availability at the moment you buy.

-cc-tw chooses Taiwan and nothing narrower. See the dashboard generator for the cities on offer, where available. A lookup’s region usually reads “Taiwan”, so go by the city field and test the exit in our IP checker before you count on a town.

Homes on HiNet, kbro, Homeplus, TBC and TWM Broadband, with smaller providers such as DaDa and Seednet, and phones on Chunghwa, Taiwan Mobile and Far EasTone. Network keys are a US, UK and German option, so the Python tab filters by ASN.

Those are registry names for Chunghwa Telecom. AS3462, printed as Data Communication Business Group or HINET, is HiNet, and AS17421, printed as Mobile Business Group or EMOME-NET, is its phone network. AS9416 prints KBT or Hoshin Multimedia and is Homeplus. Far EasTone host names can contain “adsl”, so do not infer the line type from them.

For desktop results they do. Google holds 66.84% of desktop searches, Bing 17.47% and Yahoo 15.17%; on phones Google holds 90.77% and Yahoo 7.49% (StatCounter, October 2026). Run google.com.tw with gl=tw, then the same terms on Yahoo and Bing from that session.

Residential and mobile are the options for Taiwan; the order page lists the markets with static IPs. Choose residential for shop prices, listings and search. Mobile adds $0.50 per GB and suits app checks, where iOS and Android are almost level on Taiwanese phones, at 51.63% and 48.36%.

Prices are on the pricing page: residential from $3.49 to $1.69 per GB and mobile from $3.99 to $2.19, the rate falling as the order grows. In the markets the order page lists, ISP IPs are $4.00 and datacenter IPs $2.00 per IP per month. A free trial exists; that page has its current terms.

The Criminal Code and the Personal Data Protection Act, the texts we read, do not regulate proxy or VPN use as such, and the telecom regulator’s site would not open for us. Articles 358 and 359 of the Code cover computer access and records, and Article 19 of the Act covers personal data you gather. Not legal advice.

You rarely know who operates a free proxy, and that operator sees every request you send, logins included. A lookup naming Amazon, Google or a small hosting firm means a server, and HiNet or kbro means a Taiwanese line. Those hosting names hold under 0.2% each on APNIC’s list here.

In your browser extension, app or HTTP client, set the proxy host to gate.aeonproxy.com and the port to 7000, with ap_a1b2c3-cc-tw as the username and your password. For one exit over an hour, the username becomes ap_a1b2c3-cc-tw-sid-tpe01-time-3600. The docs cover SOCKS5.
