53K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026, on the fibre and cable networks Japanese households pay for. Residential traffic starts at $1.69 per GB and mobile at $2.19. Add -cc-jp to the login, then a prefecture or a city where available; static ISP and datacenter IPs are listed on the order page.

The 40 exits placed in Japan in our 26 October 2026 test spread over 22 cities in 16 prefectures (ipinfo.io).
17 of 24 prefecture requests landed where asked. City requests matched 16 times out of 24.
Keep one Japanese exit for up to an hour, or take a fresh one on every request.

Japanese online shopping runs through a short list of stores. Similarweb’s September 2026 ranking puts amazon.co.jp first among e-commerce sites in Japan, followed by rakuten.co.jp, dmm.com and shopping.yahoo.co.jp; mercari.com is fourth among marketplaces and kakaku.com leads price comparison. Prices, seller counts, reviews and stock on those pages are the usual targets, seen from a Japanese household address.
Search needs more care than in Europe because the engine changes with the device. In StatCounter’s September 2026 figures Google handles 85.08% of mobile searches in Japan, but on desktop Bing is ahead with 51.83% against Google’s 42.17%. Yahoo! adds 7.61% across all devices, and yahoo.co.jp is the second most visited site in the country. A rank report built only on Google mobile leaves out most desktop searches, so run Japanese checks on both engines and both device types.
The 2025 census counted 122,972,528 people, 30.1% of them in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama and Chiba; Tokyo was the only prefecture that grew. Of the 40 exits placed in Japan in our test, 12 geolocated to Tokyo and 3 each to Nagoya and Osaka.

Statistics Bureau of Japan, 2025 census, published 29 September 2026. Targeting misses on 26 October 2026 went to another big city: four Nagoya requests were placed in Osaka, three Osaka or Kanagawa requests in Tokyo. Databases drop the -ken and -fu suffixes and spell Hyōgo with a macron.
KDDI, SoftBank, OCN and NTT Docomo together reach a little over half of the users APNIC measures in Japan. Of the 40 exits placed in Japan in our test, 10 were KDDI addresses and another 10 SoftBank.

Share and IPv6 are APNIC Labs estimates of Japanese internet users per network, 24–25 October 2026, not shares of our pool. The last column counts residential exits placed in Japan through our gateway on 26 October 2026; networks with a single exit are not listed. Japan as a whole is 62.4% IPv6-capable.
Japan had 231.29 million mobile contracts at the end of June 2026. NTT Docomo held 32.2% of them, the KDDI group 26.5%, SoftBank 19.1% and Rakuten Mobile 3.8%, while virtual operators had 18.6%, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. 5G contracts reached 131.53 million, up 13.7% in a year.
Our mobile test login returned ten Japanese exits on 26 October 2026: six on Rakuten Mobile’s AS138384, two on NTT Docomo’s AS9605 and two on OCN’s AS4713. APNIC rates Rakuten Mobile 94.7% IPv6-capable, the highest among large Japanese networks. Carrier keys exist only for the US, the UK and Germany, so in Japan the exit’s ASN tells you the network.
SIM checks are tightening: in March 2026 the ministry consulted on making shops verify identity by reading the IC chip of a My Number card or similar ID, after phones used in fraud turned out to be registered with forged papers.

Put the prefecture and the city in the login, read where ipinfo.io places the exit and reuse the session key for up to an hour. City requests matched two times in three in our test, so the check belongs inside the loop.

https://ipinfo.io/jsonFibre is the norm. At the end of June 2026, 41.67 million of Japan’s 52.57 million fixed broadband contracts were FTTH, and 56.2% of FTTH lines ran on NTT East and West’s network. 17.50 million lines, 42.0% of all FTTH, were NTT access lines sold under another company’s brand (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications).
Many of those homes now reach the internet over IPv6 IPoE, with IPv4 carried inside IPv6 by a separate operator. Internet Multifeed’s transix uses DS-Lite and says one global IPv4 address is shared between users, translated inside its own network. JPIX’s v6plus uses MAP-E, where the address and the usable ports follow a mapping rule. In the registries, 106.72.0.0/15 belongs to JPNE, now merged into JPIX, and is announced by KDDI’s AS2516; transix addresses sit under Internet Multifeed’s AS55391 (east) and AS55392 (west).
So the ASN on a Japanese exit often names the tunnel operator instead of the brand on the household’s bill; one Tokyo exit in our sample, 217.178.XX.13, showed Internet Multifeed. An IPv4 address behind DS-Lite or MAP-E also serves more than one home at a time, so keep the request rate on a single exit low.

A Japan proxy sends your request out through an address in Japan, so the site replies with what a Japanese user gets: local prices and stock, Japanese rankings on Google and Bing, ad placements, or your own Japanese storefront.
53K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. Household connections come and go, so the number moves daily. We publish no mobile count; our mobile test exits came from Rakuten Mobile, NTT Docomo and OCN.
Yes, where available. Add -st-tokyo, -st-osaka, -st-kanagawa, -st-aichi, -st-fukuoka, -st-saitama or -st-hokkaido for a prefecture and -city-tokyo, -city-osaka, -city-yokohama, -city-nagoya, -city-kobe, -city-sapporo, -city-fukuoka or -city-kyoto for a city. On 26 October 2026, 71% of prefecture requests and 67% of city requests were placed where asked by ipinfo.io, so check each exit before you rely on it.
From the networks Japanese homes use. Of the 40 exits placed in Japan in our 26 October 2026 test, 10 were KDDI, 10 SoftBank, 4 BIGLOBE and 3 Chubu Telecommunications, with OCN, So-net, JCOM and ARTERIA two each. ISP targeting is offered only in the US, the UK and Germany, so read the ASN of each exit instead.
Rotating residential exits suit price, listing and ranking collection. Mobile exits fit app and mobile web checks, and Rakuten Mobile’s network is nearly all IPv6. A static ISP IP suits work that needs the same address for weeks, such as managing your own accounts within each platform’s rules.
Many FLET’S homes use IPv6 IPoE, and their IPv4 traffic leaves through the network of the operator that runs the tunnel. transix addresses carry Internet Multifeed’s AS55391 or AS55392, and JPNE’s 106.72.0.0/15 is announced by KDDI’s AS2516. The exit is still a household line.
Yes, for desktop. Bing had 51.83% of desktop searches in Japan in September 2026 according to StatCounter, while Google had 85.08% on mobile. Yahoo! JAPAN is a large portal as well, with 7.61% of searches on all devices.
The rules concern what you collect and how: APPI for personal data, the Copyright Act for analysis of works, and the Unauthorized Computer Access Act against using other people’s logins. Collect public, logged-out data within each site’s terms. This is not legal advice.
Free open proxies are run by strangers who can log or alter what passes through them, and most sit on servers rather than home lines. A paid pool gives you known terms and household addresses.
In a browser or a browser profile manager, enter gate.aeonproxy.com, port 7000, and a login that contains -cc-jp. In code, pass the same values as an HTTP proxy, as in the Python tab above; SOCKS5 uses port 7001. A free trial is available; the pricing page shows the current terms.
Round trips between our Japanese deck exits and Frankfurt, where our gateway runs, were 239 to 549 ms on 26 October 2026, seven of eight under 330 ms.
