Why San Marino

Visitor prices and orders from Italy

Visitors

Two million arrivals, 34,151 residents

The statistics office put 2025 visitors at 2,110,236: 1,774,491 by car and 335,745 by coach, and 382,005 of them came in August. San Marino Outlet has 50 shops, 15 minutes from Rimini, at 30% to 70% off, and Visit San Marino prints its events in Italian, English and German.

Italian orders

The total for a Sammarinese address

San Marino has no VAT, so an Italian shop’s total for an address there can differ from its total at home. Fill the same basket for both addresses and keep each total with its tax line.

Telecom prices

Plans sold in euros

TIM San Marino has +Mobile 200 GIGA at €9.95 a month, and FIBRA+ at €29.95 for six months, then €35.90. Telenet’s fibre starts at €25.90 for 100/100 Mbps and reaches €39.90 for 1 Gbps.

Search and devices

A desktop market, by StatCounter’s count

Nearly four page views in five came from desktops in October 2026: 78.76%, with phones on 20.65%. Android leads on mobile at 65.28%. Google answered 92.2% of searches, and Bing took 8.09% on desktops. For repeat ranking work see SERP proxies.

Coverage

Serravalle, Borgo Maggiore and the other seven castelli

San Marino is divided into nine castelli, with 34,151 residents in September 2026. Serravalle and Borgo Maggiore hold 53.48% of them. A login targets the whole country with -cc-sm; check the dashboard generator for the castelli and towns on offer.

Ufficio Nazionale di Statistica, monthly table of residents by castello. Local addresses also use names such as Dogana, Falciano and Valdragone, with postcodes like 47890 for the city and 47899 for Serravalle, and a lookup may print those. Town placement is where available, and a castello can have no exit at a given moment, so open the exit in our IP checker before you rely on the place.

Networks

TIM San Marino holds most users, and Telenet is the other home network

TIM San Marino, founded in 1992 and wholly owned by the TIM group, describes itself as the concession holder for the country’s telecoms. Telenet has sold connections here since 1999. Both sell home fibre on the network of AASS, the state services company.

Shares are APNIC Labs’ separate estimates for 2 November 2026. Its IPv6 tables run to 3 November 2026, when 0.22% of Sammarinese users were capable against 19.21% for Southern Europe. We found no regulator report with operator shares. A local software and IoT company shows 2.65% on a small sample, and a hosting network is left out. Network keys are offered on US, UK and German logins only; the ASN in a lookup names the network.

San Marino has no free site ranking: Ahrefs Top has no list for it and Similarweb’s country address returned 404 on 5 November 2026, so these are sites we opened that day, in no traffic order. Keep to signed-out public pages and each site’s terms.

For developers

Open a Sammarinese exit, confirm it and read one page

The script opens a 30-minute session on -cc-sm, keeps the exit only if the lookup says SM, labels the network from the ASN and fetches a local page in Italian.

import requests, uuid
GATE = "gate.aeonproxy.com:7000"

def sammarinese_exit(attempts=6):

        proxy = f"http://{login}:PASS@{GATE}"
        try:

        except requests.RequestException:

        if seen.get("country") == "SM":
            seen["network"] = NETWORK.get(seen.get("org", "").split(" ")[0], seen.get("org"))
            return proxy, seen # the same address for 30 minutes
    return None, None # none free right now: try again later

proxy, seen = sammarinese_exit()
if proxy:
    print(seen["ip"], seen["network"], seen.get("city"))
    page = requests.get("https://www.titancoop.sm/promozioni", headers={"Accept-Language": "it-IT,it;q=0.9"},
                        proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=20)
    print(page.status_code, len(page.text))

The function returns nothing when no address answers, which can happen with 61 addresses, so call it again a little later. Any length from 60 to 21600 seconds works in -time-; a login with no -sid- rotates per request.

Tax at the border

No VAT here, and an Italian order can go either way

San Marino has no VAT. Goods pay a single-stage tax, the monofase, when they enter the country, at an ordinary rate of 17% under Delegated Decree 183 of 2011 as quoted by Startup.sm, a guide for companies there.

The Finance Ministry’s report on the 2021 decree says private buyers’ distance purchases carry the import tax once the Italian seller’s sales to San Marino residents pass €28,000 in a year, and the seller then names a fiscal representative to pay it. Below that line the representative is optional; without one no import tax is due, and the goods keep their Italian VAT. Two shops can therefore tax the same basket differently, so record the tax line and delivery country with each total.

San Marino Outlet publishes another price for shoppers in person: 5% off at the till for EU visitors and 15% for others on purchases above €258.23, with Italian and Sammarinese citizens and residents excluded.

Law 171 of 2018 and Article 182-bis of the Criminal Code

Law 171 of 21 December 2018 protects personal data, supervised by the Autorità Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Article 3 extends it to companies abroad that offer goods or services to people in San Marino or monitor their behaviour there. Article 72 sets fines of up to €10 million or, for companies, up to 4% of annual turnover if that is higher. Under Article 2 a name or an online identifier is personal data; prices and dates are what to collect.

Article 182-bis of the Criminal Code, added by Law 114 of 23 August 2016, punishes entering a computer system protected by security measures, or staying in one against the owner’s will, with a second-degree prison term. Neither Law 171 nor Law 114 registers, licenses or bans proxy or VPN users, and we did not open San Marino’s telecoms legislation. Our service does not support gambling sites.

Not legal advice. We read the Garante’s unofficial consolidated text of Law 171 and the 2016 text of Law 114; parliament’s site has a 2020 computer-crime bill, and we could not confirm whether it passed or changed Article 182-bis. Rulings on scraping: our 2022 to 2026 case review.

San Marino proxy questions

A route that sends your requests out through a home or mobile line in San Marino, so sites answer as they would a local visitor. It lets you read Titancoop’s offers or compare an Italian shop’s total for a Sammarinese address.

With 61 residential IPs in the pool, October 2026, rotation runs out of new addresses quickly. They are home connections, so some drop out during the day and others come in. Think of one job at a time: the current Titancoop flyer, or an Italian shop’s total for a Sammarinese address. Collecting at volume needs far more addresses than this.

Logins choose the country and nothing finer, though any castelli and towns on offer are listed in the dashboard generator, where available. Look the exit up in our IP checker before you depend on its town, since geolocation databases disagree at that level.

TIM San Marino and Telenet, which APNIC credits with 98.59% of users between them; exits come from homes and phones on those two. A login cannot pick one, because network keys are limited to the US, the UK and Germany. Read the ASN in a lookup to see which you have.

TIM San Marino, whose plans we read, from +Mobile 1 GIGA at €5.95 to +Mobile 200 GIGA at €9.95 a month. An ITU paper of October 2020 also named San Marino Telecom and Telefonia Mobile Sammarinese, and we read no current plans from either. Mobile exits run on the country’s networks where the pool has them, and the order page shows availability.

San Marino has only those two; the order page lists the countries with static IPs. Shop pages, news sites and search need nothing more than residential, the cheaper one. Pay the extra $0.50 per GB for mobile when a page is built for phones, which made 20.65% of page views here in October 2026.

Residential runs from $3.49 per GB at the bottom tier to $1.69 at the top, and mobile from $3.99 to $2.19. For the countries on the order page, ISP IPs are $4.00 and datacenter IPs $2.00 a month. The pricing page has each tier and the current terms of the free trial.

They are separate countries with separate keys, and a lookup here should print SM. TIM San Marino belongs to the Italian TIM group, though, and GeoLite files 5.06% of its announced IPv4 addresses under Coriano in Italy, so drop anything other than SM, as the Python tab does. GeoLite also prints Borgo Maggiore for 54.42% of them, which makes the town field a rough guide. For Italian homes, see our Italy page.

Law 171 of 2018 and Article 182-bis of the Criminal Code do not license, register or forbid proxies and VPNs. Article 182-bis does cover entry to protected systems without permission, and Law 171 covers personal details you collect. We did not open the telecoms legislation. Not legal advice.

You rarely know who runs one, and whoever does can read or change what passes through it, logins included. Test the address first: AS15433 or AS196874 with country SM points to a local line, and a hosting company’s name points to a rented server.

Any browser extension, app or HTTP client takes host gate.aeonproxy.com, port 7000, username ap_a1b2c3-cc-sm and your password. For half an hour on one address, extend the username with -sid-rsm01-time-1800. SOCKS5 is covered in the docs.
