Why Nicaragua

What a Nicaraguan IP is used for: shelf prices, ad copy and desktop search

Shops

SINSA, PriceSmart and Walmart behind Amazon

Ahrefs’ October 2026 shopping list for Nicaragua, ordered by estimated organic search traffic, runs amazon.com, sinsa.com.ni, pricesmart.com, walmart.com.ni and siman.com. SINSA sells building materials and hardware. The four after Amazon price in córdobas on their Nicaraguan sites.

Search

Bing on desktops, Google on phones

Google took 88.66% of Nicaraguan searches in October 2026 and Bing 10.17%. Split by device, Bing had 24.64% on desktops and Google 98.37% on phones (StatCounter). Desktops produced 61.28% of page views, so rank tracking from a desktop profile needs both engines; SERP proxies covers the setup.

Language

Two forms of “you” in shop copy

Walmart, PriceSmart and Claro address customers as vos (“Comprá”, “Encontrá”, “Conocé”). SIMAN uses tú (“Estrena”, “Descubre”). Match the form when you compare your own ads with local copy.

Coverage

Managua, León, Masaya and the next largest Nicaraguan municipalities

INIDE, the statistics office, estimates 6,874,748 people for 2024, 23.26% of them in Managua department and 15.51% in Managua municipality. Logins pick the country with -cc-ni, and the dashboard generator shows which departments and towns are on offer.

Population: INIDE, Anuario Estadístico 2023, table II.1.4. Municipal figures include rural areas. Where available, exits also come from towns such as Nandaime, Diriamba and Bluefields (58,958 residents, South Caribbean Coast). Geolocation databases disagree at city level, so open an exit in our IP checker before you rely on its town.

Networks

Claro and Tigo, then Casavisión, IDEAY and smaller ISPs

APNIC Labs places 52.08% of Nicaraguan users on Claro’s network and 33.28% on Tigo’s, 85.36% between them. Casavisión comes next at 8.57%, the carrier Ufinet at 5.72% and IDEAY at 5.34%.

Users: APNIC Labs, 1 November 2026; every share is a separate estimate, so the full column of 24 networks adds up to 115.33%. IPv6: APNIC to 2 November 2026, when 33.80% of Nicaraguan users were capable, against 52.12% in Central America. Starlink and hosting or VPN networks are left out. TELCOR’s coverage page also lists Cootel as a mobile operator. Amnet’s registry contact is Tigo’s company. A login here has no network key, since ISP and carrier keys exist for the US, the UK and Germany only; read the ASN from a lookup.

One Nicaraguan exit, checked by country before ASN

The login holds one exit (-cc-ni) for 30 minutes. If the lookup country is not NI, the script opens a new session; otherwise it turns the ASN into the brand people know.

A Nicaraguan quirk

A Guatemalan name on Nicaraguan Claro lines

Claro’s Nicaraguan ranges are registered to “TELEMATIX/ ENITEL”, with Claro Nicaragua as the contact, and announced by AS14754, whose holder is Telecomunicaciones de Guatemala. A lookup of 16 addresses in those ranges on ipinfo.io on 3 November 2026 read country NI each time, with the Guatemalan company’s name and a hostname ending in enitel.net.ni.

AS14754 also announces ranges in four other countries. A lookup of one address from each of its 72 merged prefixes returned 33 in Guatemala, 24 in El Salvador, 6 in Nicaragua, 5 in Honduras and 4 in Costa Rica, a count of prefixes that ignores their size. Filter on the country field and name the network from the ASN afterwards.

RIPEstat shows Tigo’s AS28036 announcing 12,544 IPv4 addresses, merged and counted once, against 770,968 estimated users, about 61 users per address. Casavisión has 1,024 addresses for 198,441 users, about 194 each.

Personal data, computer access and telecoms rules in Nicaragua

Ley 787 of 2012, the Personal Data Protection Law, requires the data subject’s consent, with exceptions in Article 6 such as lists from unrestricted public sources limited to name, national ID and date of birth. Article 28 places the supervisor, the Dirección de Protección de Datos Personales, in the Ministry of Finance. Store prices and listings without names or phone numbers.

Ley 1042 of 2020, the Special Cybercrime Law, amended by Ley 1219 in 2024, punishes access to a computer system without authorisation, or beyond it, with one to three years in prison and day-fines (Article 4). The penalty rises by a third when the aim is commercial (Article 5). Ley 1223, the telecoms law published on 6 November 2024 and in force twelve months later, requires a TELCOR licence to provide telecommunications services (Article 149). None of these texts sets a rule, a licence or a registration for using a VPN or proxy.

Not legal advice. TELCOR’s library would not download AA 001-2021, its data-preservation rule, or the regulations it lists under Ley 1223, so ask TELCOR about those. Rulings on scraping from 2022 to 2026: our court-case guide.

Nicaragua proxy questions

It sends your requests out through a Nicaraguan home or mobile connection, so local sites answer as they would a visitor in the country. People use one to read córdoba prices on SINSA, PriceSmart or Walmart, to follow rankings with gl=ni on Google and Bing, and to check their own Nicaraguan pages and ads.

17K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. Homes connect and disconnect, so the count is never fixed. Mobile has no figure of its own: exits run on Claro, Tigo and Cootel where the pool has them, and the order page shows availability.

The key on this page sets the country only, -cc-ni. The dashboard generator shows which departments and towns are on offer, where available. Lookups can place one address in different towns, so check the exit in our IP checker before you rely on Managua or León.

Nicaraguans connect mainly through Claro and Tigo, then Casavisión, IDEAY, Amnet, IBW and Yota, and exits come from homes and phones on those networks. Network keys are limited to US, UK and German logins, so read the ASN from a lookup.

Yes, where the pool has them. TELCOR’s coverage page names three mobile operators: Claro, Tigo and Cootel. Android carried 82.09% of Nicaraguan mobile traffic in October 2026 (StatCounter). Mobile costs $0.50 more per GB than residential.

Residential and mobile are the options for Nicaragua, and the order page lists the countries with static IPs. Rotating residential exits suit shop prices and search results. Mobile exits suit app checks and phone pages. For a sequence of steps on your own accounts, within each platform’s rules, hold one exit with a sticky session of up to 6 hours.

Yes. Residential is $3.49 per GB on small orders and falls to $1.69 at the largest volume; mobile runs from $3.99 to $2.19. The pricing page has the full ladder and the current terms of the free trial.

We read Leyes 787, 1042, 1219 and 1223, and none sets a rule or a licence for using a VPN or proxy. Ley 1042 punishes access to a system without authorisation (Article 4), and Ley 787 protects personal data. Not legal advice.

Passwords and anything else you send cross a machine whose owner you cannot identify, and that owner can log or alter them. In a lookup, AS14754 with country NI, AS28036 or AS263751 means a Nicaraguan line; a hosting company’s name means a rented server.

A browser extension, app or script needs four values for an HTTP proxy: gate.aeonproxy.com, port 7000, username ap_a1b2c3-cc-ni and your password. For two hours on one exit, add -sid-mga01-time-7200 to the username. SOCKS5 settings are in the docs.

Claro’s Nicaraguan ranges are announced by AS14754, registered to Telecomunicaciones de Guatemala, so the org line shows that name. Trust the country field: NI with a hostname ending in enitel.net.ni is a Nicaraguan Claro line.
