Why Ivory Coast

A French-language market that prices in CFA francs

Ivorian search traffic runs in French. Ahrefs’ October 2026 list of the country’s sites, ranked by estimated search traffic, has Jumia Côte d’Ivoire 24th and amazon.fr 60th, with French sports and news sites such as lequipe.fr next to the local portal abidjan.net (58th) and orange.ci (62nd).

Prices are in CFA francs, written the French way. CoinAfrique’s Ivorian classifieds show 350 000 000 CFA for a villa and, under many cars, an instalment such as “A partir de 238 757 CFA/mois”. Places are given by commune, as in Cocody, Abidjan.

StatCounter credits Google with 96.19% of Ivorian searches in September 2026, 99.39% on phones, and Bing with 3.22%. The device split swings from month to month: computers made 71.26% of page views in August and phones 57.26% in September, while Android runs 76.35% of mobile traffic. For rank checks on google.ci in French, see SERP proxies.

Population: RGPH 2021 (Institut National de la Statistique), via citypopulation.de. Lookups can return an Abidjan commune, such as Abobo or Koumassi, as the city. Where available, exits come from households and phones in Abidjan communes like Yopougon and Marcory and in Bouaké, Daloa, Korhogo, Yamoussoukro, San-Pédro, Séguéla, Odienné and Grand-Bassam. Databases disagree about towns, so confirm one in our IP checker before a job depends on it.

Networks

Orange, Moov Africa, MTN and CanalBox fibre

APNIC Labs puts 57.47% of Ivorian internet users on Orange’s network, 26.66% on Moov Africa’s, 24.36% on MTN’s and 7.92% on CanalBox, the fibre service of Canal+ Telecom. Every other access network stays below 0.05%.

Users: APNIC Labs, 29 October 2026; its 20 rows add up to 120.14%, so take each share as a separate estimate. IPv6: APNIC, 30 October 2026, when the country stood at 18.65%. Starlink, fifth with 3.57%, and the satellite, cloud and security networks in the table are left out. Carrier keys exist only for the US, the UK and Germany; the ASN in a lookup is how to tell Orange from Moov.

Mobile

Mobile subscriptions by operator, 30 June 2026

ARTCI counted 60,401,530 mobile subscriptions at the end of June 2026, 0.8% more than a year earlier. An Ivorian mobile exit in the pool runs on one of these three networks; the order page shows which are available.

Fixed internet had 938,067 subscriptions, 61.5% of them fibre; by operator, Orange had 609,351, MTN 154,327, Canal+ Telecom 94,764 and Moov 76,546. ARTCI puts much of the 54.5% yearly rise down to MTN and Orange, which now also sell satellite internet access (Q2 2026 report).

For developers

Bouaké by district name, with a country check first

Each login carries -cc-ci and a 30-minute session. The script throws away exits that do not read CI, which matters for AS36924, and keeps one that ipinfo.io places in Vallée du Bandama District, around Bouaké.

import requests, uuid
GATE = "gate.aeonproxy.com:7000"
# Country key only. ipinfo.io spells districts the GeoNames way: "Abidjan Autonomous District",
# "Vallée du Bandama District" (Bouaké), "Sassandra-Marahoue" (Daloa), "Bas-Sassandra District" (San-Pédro).
BRAND = {"AS29571": "Orange", "AS37190": "Moov Africa", "AS36974": "MTN", "AS36924": "CanalBox"}

def ivorian_exit(district=None, tries=8):
    for _ in range(tries):
        sid = uuid.uuid4().hex[:8]
        login = f"ap_a1b2c3-cc-ci-sid-{sid}-time-1800"
        proxy = f"http://{login}:PASS@{GATE}"
        try:
            geo = requests.get("https://ipinfo.io/json", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=20).json()
        except requests.RequestException:
            continue # timed out: take the next session
        if geo.get("country") != "CI":
            continue # AS36924 also announces Gabonese, Togolese, Congolese space
        if district is None or geo.get("region") == district:
            return proxy, geo # the same exit for 30 minutes
    return None, None

proxy, geo = ivorian_exit("Vallée du Bandama District")
if proxy:
    asn = geo.get("org", "").split(" ")[0]    # "AS37190 Atlantique Telecom (Cote d'Ivoire)" -> "AS37190"
    print(geo["ip"], geo.get("city"), BRAND.get(asn, geo.get("org")))

Write district names in the GeoNames spelling, accents and all: Vallée du Bandama District, but Sassandra-Marahoue and Goh-Djiboua without them. Sessions run 60 to 21600 seconds, and without -sid- each request rotates. ISP and carrier keys are limited to the US, the UK and Germany, so the brand comes from the ASN.

Personal data and cybercrime law in Côte d’Ivoire

Loi n° 2013-450 of 19 June 2013 protects personal data and gives ARTCI, the telecom regulator, the role of data protection authority (article 46). Any processing needs a prior declaration to ARTCI (article 5). Prior authorisation is needed to process a national ID number or “tout autre identifiant de la même nature, notamment les numéros de téléphones”, and to transfer personal data to a third country (article 7). Sellers’ phone numbers on Ivorian classifieds fall under that rule; asking prices and listing counts do not.

Article 4 of Loi n° 2013-451 of 19 June 2013 on cybercrime punishes fraudulent access to all or part of an information system, or an attempt at it, with one to two years in prison and a fine of 5 to 10 million CFA francs. Loi n° 2013-546 attaches conditions to supplying cryptology services (article 47), a rule for the providers of such services; for using a VPN or proxy we found no Ivorian registration, licence or ban. Sports and horse-race betting not run by LONACI has been banned since December 2023, and betting sites are not a supported use.

Ivory Coast proxy questions

An Ivory Coast proxy routes your traffic through an address on Orange, MTN, Moov Africa or another Ivorian network, so a site responds as it would to someone in Côte d’Ivoire. Typical uses are Jumia and CoinAfrique prices in CFA francs, google.ci results in French, Air Côte d’Ivoire’s flights from Abidjan and tests of your own site on Ivorian lines.

Both names mean the same country, whose ISO code is CI: the login key is -cc-ci and lookups report the country as CI. Côte d’Ivoire is the official name, Ivory Coast the English one.

45K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026, a number that changes as devices come and go. No mobile count exists; mobile exits use Orange, MTN and Moov Africa where the pool has them, and the order page has the current list.

Logins choose the country, -cc-ci; districts and cities on offer, where available, appear in the dashboard generator. For a single district, filter on the region field ipinfo.io returns, such as Abidjan Autonomous District, or Vallée du Bandama District for Bouaké; the Python tab shows how. Lookups can name an Abidjan commune as the city, so check the town in our IP checker.

Homes and phones on Orange, Moov Africa, MTN and CanalBox fibre, the four networks APNIC finds under nearly all Ivorian users, plus small ISPs such as VipNet. Network keys are offered only for the US, the UK and Germany, so identify an Ivorian exit by its ASN: AS29571 Orange, AS37190 Moov Africa, AS36974 MTN, AS36924 CanalBox.

AS36924, registered as GVA Cote d’Ivoire SAS, announces Canal+ Telecom address space for several African countries. When we looked up one address from each of its 42 IPv4 prefixes on ipinfo.io on 31 October 2026, only 4 came back in Côte d’Ivoire. Keep an exit only when its country reads CI.

Listings, prices and search work on rotating residential exits. Mobile exits are for app testing and phone layouts, and Android ran 76.35% of Ivorian mobile traffic in September 2026. If your own accounts need one static address, within each platform’s rules, rent an ISP proxy for the period; Ivorian stock is shown on the order page.

In the Ivorian texts we read, using a VPN or proxy is not regulated as such. Fraudulent access to an information system is a crime under article 4 of Loi n° 2013-451, and collecting personal data such as phone numbers calls for an ARTCI declaration or authorisation under Loi n° 2013-450. Not legal advice.

Treat one as unsafe: you do not know who operates it, and the operator sees, and can store, everything you send. In a lookup, Orange, MTN, Atlantique Telecom or GVA with the country CI points to an Ivorian line, and a cloud or hosting name to a server. Keep your logins away from it.

Use gate.aeonproxy.com, port 7000, as an HTTP proxy in any browser extension, app or script, and log in with ap_a1b2c3-cc-ci plus your password. Append -sid-abj01-time-21600 to keep one exit for six hours. The docs explain SOCKS5; the pricing page lists the free trial’s current terms.
