Why Gibraltar

Flats, used cars and appliances, all priced in pounds

Property

Inside and outside area on each flat

Chestertons lists Cormorant Wharf at £1,225,000 with 121 sqm inside and 65 sqm outside, and a studio at The Residence at £239,995. Gibraltar.com’s featured sales on 5 November 2026 included a three-bedroom flat at Monument Plaza, Eastside, at £865,000.

Cars

GibYellow Motors

GibYellow is 22nd in Ahrefs’ October 2026 list for Gibraltar, by estimated search traffic, and the highest listing site in it. Its motors section on 5 November 2026 included a 2023 Renault Kangoo Combi EV at £17,995 and a 2020 Mercedes-Benz B180 at £19,995.

Shops

Candy.gi and El Corte Inglés

Candy.gi, 69th, sells appliances and prints both prices, such as a washing machine at £699 after £999, with free delivery and installation. Ahrefs’ shopping filter opens with elcorteingles.es, 29th overall, ahead of ebay.com.

Search and devices

Bing takes almost a quarter of desktops

StatCounter gives Bing 22.95% of desktop searches in October 2026 and Google 73.19%, against 95.7% for Google on phones. Across platforms Google had 87.09% and Bing 9.46%. Phones made 57.57% of page views, split between iOS on 50.21% and Android on 49.79%. For tracking across engines, see SERP proxies.

Coverage

Reclamation Areas, South District, North District and the Town Area

The census of 14 November 2022 counted 37,936 usual residents and reports them by major residential area. A login sets the country with -cc-gi and goes no finer; the dashboard generator shows any districts on offer.

Census of Gibraltar 2022, Table 5. North District grew fastest over the decade, up 53.7% from 4,267 in 2012. GeoLite lists every IPv4 block of the three main networks under GI with no city (RIPEstat, data of 3 November 2026), so a lookup may not name a district. Placement is where available, and our IP checker shows what a given exit reports.

Networks

GibFibre, Gibtelecom and U-Mee split Gibraltar’s users

Three networks hold 99.33% of Gibraltar users in APNIC’s estimate, and none has half of them. The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority’s communications pages print no market shares, so no operator figures for lines sit beside these.

AS34803 is registered to Broadband Gibraltar Limited, which PeeringDB also names Sapphire Networks; u-mee says it is in the same group. Hosting, cloud and satellite networks and one corporate network are left out. Keys for networks exist only on US, UK and German logins, so read the ASN in a lookup.

For developers

Hold a Gibraltar exit, then ask for English and Spanish

A session on -cc-gi lasts 30 minutes here. The script drops any lookup outside GI, labels the rest by ASN, turns a printed price into a number, and asks for one page in English and in Spanish.

A Gibraltar quirk

British, Spanish and local addresses in one ranking

Ahrefs’ list for Gibraltar has 84 sites, of which 8 end in .gi, 7 in .uk and 4 in .es. Its news filter runs bbc.com, nytimes.com, newsnow.co.uk, europasur.es, diarioarea.com, elpais.com and theguardian.com, with chronicle.gi eighth and yourgibraltartv.com eleventh.

Visit Gibraltar calls English the official language and says Spanish is widely spoken; 5.6% of people aged 14 and over gave Spanish as their main language in the 2022 census.

Visit Gibraltar also says legal tender is Gibraltar Government sterling notes and coins, that sterling stands at par with them, and that euros are widely accepted. Some agents also sell elsewhere: Richardsons searches Gibraltar, Sotogrande and other parts of Spain, and Chestertons’ menus list property in Spain and Malta. Check the place on each listing before you compare prices.

A lookup of a local exit returns GI. To learn what a shop does with that, save the same page from a Gibraltar exit and from a UK or Spanish IP, then compare price, currency and language.

Gibraltar’s data rules and section 362 of the Crimes Act

The Data Protection Act 2004 and the Gibraltar GDPR apply, with the Gibraltar Regulatory Authority as Information Commissioner. The Authority says that from 15 July 2026 the Gibraltar GDPR was amended to re-instate the EU GDPR, with some derivations, through the Data Protection Regulations 2026 (Legal Notice 96 of 2026). Section 164 of the Act sets the higher maximum penalty for an undertaking at £17,500,000 or 4% of annual worldwide turnover, whichever is higher.

Section 362 of the Crimes Act 2011 makes it an offence to cause a computer to perform a function intending access to a program or data that you know is unauthorised. Section 370 finds a significant link with Gibraltar if the defendant or the computer was there at the time. The words VPN and proxy do not appear in the Communications Act 2006, and the texts we read set no registration, licence or ban for people who use them. Use on gambling sites is not supported.

Not legal advice. Regulations made under the Communications Act were not among the texts we read. For court decisions on scraping, see our 2022 to 2026 review.

Gibraltar proxy questions

It sends your traffic out of Gibraltar on a home or phone line. GibYellow, Chestertons and Candy.gi then load as they do for a local visitor, and you can compare how UK and Spanish sites treat someone browsing from Gibraltar.

This page has no figure, since no per-country count is published for Gibraltar. Gibraltar home connections are in the pool, mobile exits run on Gibtelecom where the pool has them, and the order page shows availability before you pay.

Not in the login, which sets the country with -cc-gi. Any districts on offer are in the dashboard generator, where available, and a lookup may give GI with no district at all, so run the exit through our IP checker and go by what you see.

GibFibre, Gibtelecom and U-Mee, which APNIC credits with 99.33% of users; exits come from homes and phones on them. The login cannot choose among them, since network keys exist for the US, the UK and Germany alone. The ASN in a lookup tells you which one you got.

Gibtelecom, the one of the three whose site lists mobile plans, from £20 to £60 a month. We found no regulator figures for mobile shares. Mobile exits use its network where the pool has them, and the order page shows availability.

For Gibraltar you choose between those two; the order page names the countries with static IPs. Listings, shop prices and search suit residential, the cheaper of the two. Phone layouts are the case for mobile, $0.50 dearer per GB.

Residential is $3.49 per GB at the low end and $1.69 from 1,000 GB up; mobile goes from $3.99 down to $2.19. Where static IPs are sold, ISP costs $4.00 and datacenter $2.00 per IP per month. The pricing page lists every step and the free trial’s current terms.

Each site decides. A lookup returns GI, and what a shop or search engine does with that is up to it, so compare pages side by side. For what a visitor in the UK or Spain sees, use an exit in that country.

The Gibraltar texts we read set no registration, licence or ban for proxy or VPN users. Section 362 of the Crimes Act 2011 applies to unauthorised access, and the data rules apply to personal details, so store prices and leave out names. Not legal advice.

Its owner is rarely known and can read or alter your traffic, passwords included. Look at the ASN: AS202087, AS8301 or AS34803 with country GI is a local line, while a data-centre company in that field is a rented server.

Enter gate.aeonproxy.com as host, 7000 as port, ap_a1b2c3-cc-gi as username and your own password, in whatever extension, app or HTTP client you use. Append -sid-gib01-time-3600 to stay on one exit for an hour. Our docs cover SOCKS5.
