APNIC Labs puts 78% of the Egyptian users it measures on WE’s network, AS8452, which ipinfo.io labels TE-AS. Vodafone appears on two networks, both called Vodafone Data; Orange appears as Mobinil on one and as Link.NET on the other.

APNIC Labs, users per network on 25 October 2026 and IPv6 capability over 30 days to 26 October 2026; Egypt overall is at 5.39%. APNIC estimates each network on its own, so the shares overlap and add up to more than 100%. The sample columns count exits through our gateway on 27 October 2026 (11 of them mobile), not network sizes in the pool. Network targeting by key is a US, UK and Germany feature; in Egypt, check the ASN of each exit.

https://ipinfo.io/jsonPersonal data falls under Law 151 of 2020, the Personal Data Protection Law, supervised by the Personal Data Protection Centre (PDPC). Its executive regulations, Ministerial Decision 816 of 2025, were issued on 1 November 2025 and opened a one-year compliance period running to around 1 November 2026. Controllers need a PDPC licence, transfers out of Egypt need one too, and fines run from EGP 200,000 to 5 million. Keep Egyptian collection to prices, stock, listings and rankings.
Article 64 of the Telecommunication Regulation Law (Law 10 of 2003) bars users from using telecom encryption equipment without written consent from the NTRA, the Armed Forces and the national security bodies; Article 81 sets prison and a fine of EGP 10,000 to 100,000. Article 14 of the cybercrime law (Law 175 of 2018) punishes access to a restricted website with at least a year in prison, a fine of EGP 50,000 to 100,000, or both. Under Article 14, as the law firm Andersen Egypt reads it, using a proxy or VPN from inside Egypt to reach blocked websites is illegal. AeonProxy does not support that use, or any use of encryption equipment in Egypt without the consent Article 64 requires.

An Egyptian address, most often a home connection, that your requests leave from, so websites treat them as local. It is useful for prices in Egyptian pounds on Amazon.eg, noon and Jumia, Egyptian Google results, EgyptAir fares, and checks of your own app or ads as Egyptian users get them.
60K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. We do not publish a mobile count for Egypt; the 11 mobile exits we sampled on 27 October 2026 came from Orange (8), WE (2) and e& (1). You can start with a free trial; its current terms are on the pricing page.
Five governorates and five cities have keys, used where available. Governorate keys: -st-cairogovernorate, -st-giza, -st-alexandria, -st-qalyubia, -st-dakahlia. City keys: -city-cairo, -city-giza, -city-alexandria, -city-portsaid, -city-tanta. On 27 October 2026 ipinfo.io placed 17 of 23 governorate requests and 19 of 23 city requests where asked. Several misses swapped Cairo and Giza, so check each exit.
The gateway uses the region names in its geolocation lists, where Cairo the governorate is “Cairo Governorate”. -st-cairo is refused with 407, while -city-cairo works. Giza is the opposite case: -st-giza works and there is no Giza city key.
In our 27 October 2026 residential sample, 35 exits came from WE (TE-AS, AS8452), two from e& (ETISALAT MISR) and two from Orange’s Link.NET. That fits APNIC Labs, which puts 78% of measured Egyptian users on WE.
No, operator keys exist only for the US, the UK and Germany. Read the ASN of each Egyptian exit instead: AS8452 for WE, AS36935 or AS24835 for Vodafone, AS37069 or AS24863 for Orange, AS36992 for e&.
Residential exits for shop prices and Google results from Egyptian home lines. Mobile exits for Android apps and mobile pages, since phones make 63.74% of Egyptian page views. ISP proxies give one static address for long work on your own accounts, where the order page lists Egyptian stock.
Personal data from Egyptian sites falls under Law 151 of 2020. Inside Egypt, telecom encryption equipment needs written consent from the NTRA, the Armed Forces and the national security bodies (Law 10 of 2003, Article 64), and accessing a restricted website is a crime (Law 175 of 2018, Article 14), so using a proxy or VPN from Egypt to reach blocked sites is illegal. That use is not supported on AeonProxy. This is not legal advice.
Nobody can tell you who operates a free proxy, and whoever does can log your traffic. ipinfo.io counts 8,020 hosting IPs in Egypt and VPN exits from services such as VPNGate, so check the ASN of a free “Egyptian” address against the networks table before you use it.
Any HTTP client or browser extension can use it: enter gate.aeonproxy.com and port 7000 as an HTTP proxy, with -cc-eg after your user name. Add a governorate, a city or -sid-…-ttl-… when you need them; the tabs above show Python and cURL.
Yes. Africa/Cairo is UTC+3 from the last Friday of April to the last Thursday of October and UTC+2 the rest of the year; in 2026 the change back falls at the end of 29 October. A client with time-zone data from before 2023 can get Egypt’s summer offset wrong.
