Car portals, electronics shops and classifieds

In September 2026 the car portal automobile.tn, with new-car prices, used-car ads and a dealer list, ranked 11th among all websites in Tunisia (Similarweb). Further down were the electronics retailers Mytek (20th) and Tunisianet (29th), the classifieds site Tayara (52nd) and the price-comparison site Primini (102nd). Jumia closed its Tunisian marketplace in 2024.

An importer can set new-car list prices on automobile.tn against used-car asking prices on Tayara, both in dinars; a retailer can compare Mytek’s prices with Tunisianet’s and with those of their rivals Spacenet and MegaPC.

Nearly all Tunisian searches go to Google: 93.91% in September 2026, against 4.46% for Bing (StatCounter). Desktops produced 53.92% of page views that month, but the split swings: in August they had 81.03%. Android ran 85.72% of mobile page views.

Tunis, Sfax, Sousse: governorates and their keys

The census of 6 November 2024 counted 11,972,169 people in 24 governorates, 24.1% of them in Greater Tunis (Tunis, Ariana, Ben Arous and Manouba). Lookups add Governorate to every name except Gafsa, Kairouan, Manouba and Tataouine, and the region keys keep the word, as in -st-sfaxgovernorate.

Towns such as Hammamet, Kelibia, La Marsa, Moknine, Mahdia, Houmt Souk, Gabès and Jendouba supply exits too. Lookups place many Tunisian addresses in Tunis Governorate, and the databases do not always agree on the town; our IP checker shows where an exit is placed before you rely on it.

Networks

Ooredoo, Orange, Topnet and Tunisie Telecom

Four networks carry nearly all Tunisian internet users in APNIC Labs’ estimate: Ooredoo reaches 35.76% of them, Orange 22.97%, Topnet 22.53% and Tunisie Telecom 19.70%, or 22.19% counting its backbone network.

Users: APNIC Labs, 27 October 2026, estimated network by network, so the shares sum to about 111%. IPv6: APNIC, to 28 October 2026. What each company sells comes from INT’s subscription figures; no public source splits an operator’s traffic between phones and home lines. Lookups print registry names, such as “3S INF” for GlobalNet and “STE INTERNET SMART SOLUTIONS” for Bee, and that org field is where a Tunisian exit’s network shows, as network keys are limited to US, UK and German exits.

For developers

A Sfax exit, confirmed before you keep it

Keys are lowercase with the spaces removed, as in -st-sfaxgovernorate and -city-benarous. The script rejects any exit whose country is not TN, then puts the region and city from ipinfo.io into the same form and compares them with the keys you asked for.

A Tunisian quirk

Many Tunisian home lines are 4G and 5G boxes

At the end of June 2026, 43% of Tunisia’s 2,012,000 fixed data subscriptions ran over radio: 379,000 4G boxes, 139,000 LTE-TDD lines and 348,000 5G fixed-wireless lines, all from the three mobile operators. DSL had 42.8% and fibre 12.6% (INT).

Copper still ahead

ADSL had 777,000 lines and 4G boxes 377,000, of 1,777,000 fixed data subscriptions.

The first 5G home lines

INT’s 5G series opens with 9,425 fixed-wireless subscriptions.

348,453 5G boxes

Ooredoo has about 150,000, Orange 101,000 and Tunisie Telecom 97,000; ADSL is down to 403,000 lines.

392,187 5G boxes

Up from 108,554 a year earlier, with average use of 366 GB per line a month. A home exit on one of these boxes shows the operator’s network, as a phone would, so the ASN alone cannot tell the two apart.

Tunisian rules on personal data, system access and encryption

Tunisia’s personal data law is Organic Law 2004-63 of 27 July 2004, and the INPDP supervises it. Processing needs a prior declaration (article 7), and any transfer of personal data abroad needs INPDP authorisation (article 52); transferring without it can bring a year in prison and a 5,000-dinar fine (article 90). The names and phone numbers in Tayara ads count as personal data, and sending them abroad would need that authorisation, so leave those fields out. A 132-article bill to replace the law was at committee hearings in the Assembly on 17 February 2026; no adoption has been reported.

Under Decree-Law 2022-54 of 13 September 2022, knowingly entering or staying in an information system without right, or beyond the access granted, carries a prison term of three months to a year and a 10,000-dinar fine (article 16). Decree 2008-2639 of 21 July 2008 regulates importing and selling encryption means and services. No Tunisian provision we found bars individuals from using a VPN or proxy.

Tunisia proxy questions

The address websites see when you use one sits on a Tunisian home or mobile network. You need one whenever a job depends on being seen as a visitor in Tunisia: following automobile.tn and Tayara prices in dinars, setting Mytek against Tunisianet or reading google.tn results.

459K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. Mobile IPs are not counted by country, so there is no Tunisian mobile figure; when the pool has mobile exits on Ooredoo, Tunisie Telecom or Orange, the order page shows them.

Yes, where available. Governorates: -st-tunisgovernorate, -st-sfaxgovernorate, -st-soussegovernorate, -st-arianagovernorate, -st-benarousgovernorate, -st-nabeulgovernorate, -st-monastirgovernorate. Cities: -city-tunis, -city-sfax, -city-sousse, -city-benarous, -city-nabeul. Bizerte, Kairouan and the other governorates have no key. Check an exit’s town in our IP checker first.

Region keys copy the names in geolocation data, which add Governorate to most Tunisian regions: Sfax Governorate, Tunis Governorate. The short forms tunis, sfax and ariana are not accepted as region keys. City keys use the plain town name, so -city-sfax works.

Mostly from homes and phones on Ooredoo, Orange, Topnet and Tunisie Telecom, which APNIC estimates reach 35.76%, 22.97%, 22.53% and 19.70% of Tunisian users; GlobalNet, Bee and smaller ISPs such as Hexabyte add more. A Tunisian login cannot set the network: network keys cover just three countries, the US, the UK and Germany. Each exit’s ASN shows which one you got.

ipinfo.io places many Tunisian addresses in Tunis Governorate, those of Orange, Topnet and Bee among them; in lookups on 29 October 2026 the exceptions came back as Sfax, Hammamet (Nabeul Governorate), Monastir and Ben Arous Governorate. When the town matters, use a city key and confirm the result.

Start with rotating residential exits: they cover prices, classifieds and search results. Mobile exits on Ooredoo, Tunisie Telecom or Orange cost $0.50 more per GB; use them for app tests and phone-sized pages. An ISP proxy, for your own accounts within platform rules, stays on one static address until the rental ends; look for Tunisian stock on the order page before you buy.

Nothing we found in Tunisian law stops individuals from using a proxy or VPN, though importing and selling encryption means is regulated. Entering an information system without right is an offence under Decree-Law 2022-54, and sending personal data abroad needs INPDP authorisation. This is not legal advice.

Not for anything private: a free proxy hands all your traffic to an operator you have no way of checking. Some “Tunisian” free proxies are servers as well; APNIC’s table for Tunisia lists Cloudflare, EO Data Center and Datacamp beside the home ISPs, and our IP checker shows which kind of network an exit is on.

In your browser extension or HTTP client, the host is gate.aeonproxy.com and the port 7000; the user name is ap_a1b2c3-cc-tn, extended with any governorate, city or session keys, and the password is your own. The Python tab builds such a login in code, and the docs have the SOCKS5 settings. For the free trial, check the pricing page, since its terms change from time to time.
