Clothing at US$400, with US$150 freight and US$10 insurance, has a customs value of TT$3,796.57; 20% duty, OPT and VAT then come to TT$1,627.78.
A US$400 laptop with US$22 freight pays no duty but still owes OPT and VAT on a customs value of TT$2,860.99.
Sporting equipment, electric vehicle chargers and parts no longer pay duty, VAT or OPT, under Legal Notices 249 to 251 of 2024.
The 2027 budget proposes 12.5% VAT on digital and remote services from non-resident providers, with electronic registration, from 1 March 2027.
The Data Protection Act, Chap. 22:04 (Act No. 13 of 2011), is only partly in force. Part I, which holds the General Privacy Principles of section 6, and the sections that set up the Office of the Information Commissioner came into operation on 6 January 2012, and the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs lists the Act as partially proclaimed. The principles bind anyone who handles another person’s personal information and require that person’s knowledge and consent for collection; keep names and phone numbers from ads out of your data.
Section 3 of the Computer Misuse Act, Chap. 11:17, makes it an offence to knowingly use a computer to secure access to a program or data without authority: on summary conviction, a fine of fifteen thousand dollars and two years in prison, and more for a second conviction or where damage is caused. No law we read in Trinidad and Tobago registers, licenses or bans VPN or proxy use. Lottery and betting sites are not a supported use.

A proxy that sends your requests out through a network in Trinidad and Tobago, such as Digicel, Flow, Amplia or bmobile, so the sites you open answer as they would a visitor there. Common uses are amazon.com and PriceSmart prices for local buyers, JobsTT listings, Google results with gl=tt and tests of your own site from inside the country.
267K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. Home connections come and go, so the figure moves. Mobile has no count of its own: Digicel and bmobile exits are sold where the pool has them, and the order page shows current availability.
The login sets the country, -cc-tt; regions and towns, where available, are listed in the dashboard generator. Filter on the region a lookup returns and confirm the town in our IP checker: MaxMind’s GeoLite places no address of the four main networks in Tobago and gives TSTT’s no town.
Homes and phones on Digicel, Flow, Amplia and TSTT’s bmobile, which APNIC credits with 39.13%, 31.09%, 19.06% and 13.41% of users, and smaller ISPs such as RVR Networks, Green Dot and Air Link. A login here cannot choose among them, since network keys exist only for the US, the UK and Germany; the ASN in the lookup tells you which one you have.
TSTT, the company behind bmobile, announces its addresses on AS5639, and MaxMind’s GeoLite, as RIPEstat showed it on 30 October 2026, places every one of them at country level. Other databases may name a town. Keep the exit when the country reads TT.
Rotating residential exits fit store prices, listings and search. Mobile exits run on Digicel or bmobile, cost $0.50 more per GB and suit app and phone-page checks; Android had 70.93% of mobile traffic in September 2026. An ISP proxy stays on one static address until the rental ends, which suits your own accounts used within each platform’s rules; see the order page for stock.
We found no law there that registers, licenses or bans proxies or VPNs. Unauthorised access to programs or data is an offence under section 3 of the Computer Misuse Act, and the parts of the Data Protection Act in force since 2012 set privacy principles for anyone handling personal information. Not legal advice.
Nobody can tell you who operates a free proxy, and that operator sees your traffic, passwords included. If you test one anyway, read the org field: Digicel, Flow, Amplia or TSTT means a local line, while a hosting company means a server somewhere. Never sign in to an account through it.
Point any app, extension or library that accepts an HTTP proxy at gate.aeonproxy.com on port 7000, and log in as ap_a1b2c3-cc-tt with your password. Append -sid-pos01-time-2700 to keep one exit for 45 minutes. SOCKS5 settings are in the docs, and the free trial’s current terms are on the pricing page.
Customs takes 7% of the customs value (cost, insurance and freight) of goods bought online and flown in to a consumer, then VAT at 12.5% on the value plus duty and OPT. In its own example, US$400 of clothing with US$160 of freight and insurance paid TT$1,627.78.
