Why Thailand

Two marketplaces and a phone-first audience

Only Google, YouTube and Facebook drew more visits in Thailand than shopee.co.th in Similarweb’s September 2026 ranking. lazada.co.th was second among shopping sites, and Amazon and TikTok Shop also made the shopping top five.

LINE’s site ranks eighth of all sites in Thailand and the Pantip forum eleventh. StatCounter gave Google 99.37% of Thai searches in September 2026 and Bing 0.53%.

Phones made 78.38% of Thai page views that month and desktops 18.31%; Android ran 73.96% of the mobile share, so run price and ad checks on mobile layouts as well as on desktop.

Coverage

Province and city keys, and what they gave

Geolocation data places Thai addresses by province. GeoNames lists Bangkok and 76 provinces as first-level regions, and ipinfo.io uses the same English names, such as “Chon Buri” and “Prachuap Khiri Khan”. Of 40 untargeted exits through our gateway on 27 October 2026, placed by ipinfo.io, 23 were in Bangkok and 17 in 13 other provinces. By city: Bangkok 23, Hua Hin and Phuket two each, and 13 other towns, Pattaya among them, one each.

Province requests: 17 of 24 placed in the province asked (71%); city requests: 13 of 24 (54%), placed by ipinfo.io. Thailand had 65,809,011 registered residents on 31 December 2025, according to the Department of Provincial Administration. A name the gateway does not hold is refused with a 407 error.

Networks

AIS and True, and the networks they absorbed

Two groups carry most Thai users. AIS runs its mobile network, AIS Fibre and the former 3BB lines; True Corporation runs True Online, its own mobile network and dtac’s. National Telecom (NT), the state operator, still appears under its old TOT name.

APNIC Labs user shares from the report of 25 October 2026, IPv6 to 26 October; a second ex-3BB number, AS138524, adds 1.94%. The shares sum past 100%, so read each as reach. Exit counts are from our 27 October 2026 samples and say nothing about network sizes in the pool. Company reports for Q2 2026: AIS 47.1 million mobile and 5.35 million fixed-broadband subscribers, True 48.6 million and 3.3 million.

For developers

Province first, then the city, then a check

Keys are lowercase without spaces: -st-chiangmai, -city-hatyai. ipinfo.io writes the same places as “Chiang Mai” and “Hat Yai”, so the check strips spaces before it compares. It drops exits in the wrong province, which in our test most often meant Bangkok.

Province requests matched 17 times in 24 on 27 October 2026 and city requests 13 times, so allow a few attempts per job. Round trips between the five exits at the top of this page and Frankfurt, where our gateway runs, were 206 to 343 ms.

A Thai quirk

Mergers on paper, old networks in the data

Three deals between 2021 and 2023 merged Thai operators, but each network kept its old number, and ipinfo.io still prints the old company names on exits from them.

TOT and CAT become NT

The two state operators merge into National Telecom. Exits from AS23969 still read “TOT Public Company Limited”.

True and dtac amalgamate

True Corporation is re-listed on the SET as one company. dtac’s mobile network, AS24378, still shows as “Total Access Communication PLC.”, and True’s own as “Real Future Company Limited”.

AIS completes the 3BB deal

After NBTC approval on 10 November, AIS’s subsidiary AWN buys Triple T Broadband (3BB) and AIS takes 19% of the JASIF fund, for THB 28,371 million in all. 3BB’s AS45758 is now registered to AWN and appears as “Advanced Wireless Network Company Limited”.

Integration still running

AIS expects to finish integrating 3BB within 2026. Former 3BB lines made 10 of the 40 home exits in our sample.

Mobile Thailand

AIS phones on IPv6, True and dtac phones on IPv4

APNIC Labs counted 53.33% of Thai users as IPv6-capable on 26 October 2026. That figure averages very different mobile networks: AIS mobile users are at 96.43%, True’s mobile network at 0.35% and dtac at 0.22%.

On those figures True and dtac phones reach most sites over IPv4, which we read as addresses shared among many subscribers, and AIS phones mostly arrive over IPv6. The operators publish nothing on how they assign addresses. Our 12 mobile exits on 27 October 2026 came from True’s network (7), AIS (4) and dtac (1).

In nine spot lookups of AIS, True and dtac mobile prefixes on 27 October 2026, ipinfo.io returned Bangkok every time. When the province matters, use residential exits.

Personal data rules in Thailand

Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (2019), the PDPA, has applied in full since 1 June 2022 and is enforced by the Personal Data Protection Committee. Administrative fines reach THB 5 million, and the Act also carries criminal penalties and punitive damages. The first fine came in August 2024: THB 7 million on a large private company that had no data protection officer, weak security and a late breach notice.

Section 25 limits collecting personal data from anyone other than the person concerned; one lawful route is to notify them within 30 days. Keep to product and listing data, and leave names and contact details out. We found no Thai rule aimed at proxies or VPNs.

Not legal advice. Rulings on scraping since 2022.

Thailand proxy questions

It puts a Thai IP address in front of your requests. Shopee, Lazada and Google then answer as they would a shopper in Thailand, with baht prices and Thai-language results. Use one for marketplace price tracking, Thai rank checks and tests of your own apps and ads.

125K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. There is no published Thai mobile count; our 12 mobile exits on 27 October 2026 came from True’s network, AIS and dtac.

Yes, where available. Province keys: -st-bangkok, -st-chiangmai, -st-chonburi, -st-phuket, -st-nonthaburi, -st-samutprakan. City keys: -city-bangkok, -city-chiangmai, -city-pattaya, -city-phuket, -city-nonthaburi, -city-hatyai, -city-khonkaen. On 27 October 2026 ipinfo.io placed 17 of 24 province requests and 13 of 24 city requests where asked; Bangkok never missed.

23 of our 40 untargeted exits were in Bangkok, and 8 of the 18 targeted misses landed there as well: Chon Buri and Phuket province requests, and Chiang Mai and Pattaya city requests, each came back as Bangkok twice. Our data cannot show whether those homes are in Bangkok or only placed there by the database, so check the province of any exit outside the capital.

Of the 40 home exits on 27 October 2026: AIS Fibre 13, True Online 10, former 3BB lines 10 on two ASNs, NT’s TOT network 6, and one university network. AIS’s 1Q26 industry report gives AIS (with 3BB) 50.4% of fixed-broadband subscribers and True 31.2%.

Yes, under their old network numbers. dtac’s mobile network is AS24378, shown as “Total Access Communication PLC.” by ipinfo.io, although dtac has been part of True Corporation since March 2023. 3BB’s AS45758 now belongs to AIS’s AWN and carries that company’s name.

No; network keys are limited to the US, UK and Germany. Read the ASN of each Thai exit and keep the sessions you want: AS133481 is AIS Fibre, AS17552 True Online, AS45758 ex-3BB and AS23969 NT.

Rotating residential exits suit Shopee and Lazada price runs. Mobile exits are for app tests, with phones at 78% of Thai page views, though every carrier address we looked up came back as Bangkok in ipinfo.io. A static ISP address suits long sessions on your own accounts; the order page shows whether Thai ones are available.

We found no Thai rule aimed at proxies or VPNs. The PDPA still covers any personal data you collect, and the rules for whatever you do through a proxy still apply. This is not legal advice.

No. An unknown operator sees your traffic and can alter it. Before trusting a free Thai address, look up its ASN: a household exit usually belongs to one of the networks in our table.

Enter gate.aeonproxy.com:7000 with the login ap_a1b2c3-cc-th and your password in any HTTP client or browser proxy setting, then add a province, a city or a session key after the country. Python and cURL versions are in the developer tabs. The free trial’s current terms are on the pricing page.
