Users: APNIC Labs, 29 October 2026; its 68 Tanzanian rows add up to 137.66%, so treat each share as a separate estimate. An Airtel network registered in Rwanda, AS327708, is credited with another 10.43%, but its ranges geolocate to Malawi, Rwanda and other countries. Cloudflare and Starlink are left out. IPv6: APNIC, to 30 October 2026. Subscriptions: TCRA, June 2026. Network keys are a US, UK and German feature; for Tanzania, read the network from the ASN in a lookup.

With -cc-tz and -time-3600 in the login, each exit lasts an hour. If a lookup places the exit outside TZ, the script opens a new session; otherwise it turns the ASN into the brand people know and stops at the first exit on the network you name.

https://ipinfo.io/jsonTCRA counted 62,793,986 internet subscriptions in June 2026, and 62,203,801 of them were mobile. Fixed internet had 590,185, shared among 49 operators; Airtel’s 250,430 are more than twice Vodacom’s.
TCRA, Communications Sector Performance Report, quarter ending June 2026, Figure 1.9.1.3; Yas had 12,162. Individuals held 482,069 fixed subscriptions and companies 108,116. Smartphones numbered 31.34 million, a penetration of 44.74%, and 5G covered 34.18% of the population.
Tanzania restricts VPN use under its online content rules. Regulation 16(2) of the Electronic and Postal Communications (Online Content) Regulations, 2020 (GN No. 538) says a person shall not render, possess or distribute technology, a program, an application or any other related thing that allows or helps users to access prohibited content. TCRA cited it in a public notice of 13 October 2023, which said it had observed enormous access to prohibited content through VPNs. The notice told the public, individuals and companies for whom VPN use is indispensable to declare their VPN and all relevant information, including IP addresses, by 30 October 2023, and said TCRA would take regulatory action against unauthorised VPN use, including disabling access to such VPNs. Breaches carry a fine of at least TZS 5 million, at least twelve months in prison, or both (regulation 21). The amendments of 2025 and 2026 left regulation 16(2) in place, and TCRA’s website still lists “Submit VPN Information” among its links. Using AeonProxy from inside Tanzania as an undeclared VPN, or to reach content the regulations prohibit, is not supported.
Personal data falls under the Personal Data Protection Act, Chapter 44 (Act No. 11 of 2022): nobody may collect or process personal data without registering with the Personal Data Protection Commission as a data controller or processor (section 14). Section 4 of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015 makes intentional and unlawful access to a computer system an offence. Keep sellers’ names and numbers out of what you store. Use on betting sites is not supported either.

A Tanzania proxy gives your requests an exit on a Tanzanian home or phone line, on networks such as Vodacom, Yas, Airtel or Halotel, and sites respond as they would to someone in Tanzania. It lets you read Kupatana and Kikuu prices in shillings, Air Tanzania fares from Dar es Salaam and google.co.tz results in Swahili and English.
25K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. For mobile we publish no count: those exits run on Vodacom, Yas, Airtel, Halotel and TTCL where the pool has them, and the order page shows what is available. The residential figure changes as connections come and go.
A Tanzanian login picks the country, -cc-tz; for regions and towns, see what the dashboard generator offers, where available. You can also keep only exits whose region matches, since lookups print the GeoNames names, such as “Dar es Salaam Region” and “Zanzibar Urban/West”. Geolocation databases disagree at city level, so check each exit’s town in our IP checker.
Homes and phones on Airtel, Vodacom, Yas and Halotel, each credited by APNIC with more than 20% of Tanzanian users, and on TTCL, Savanna Fibre and smaller ISPs such as Habari Node and Simbanet. Carrier keys exist only for the US, the UK and Germany; on a Tanzanian exit the ASN in a lookup names the network, and the Python tab maps it to the brand.
Tigo Tanzania unveiled its new name, Yas, on 26 November 2024, and Tigo Pesa became Mixx by Yas (The Citizen). Its network, AS37035, is still registered as MIC TANZANIA LTD in APNIC’s data and as HONORA Tanzania PLC in PeeringDB. Halotel’s AS327885 shows up the same way, as Viettel Tanzania PLC.
Kupatana listings, Kikuu prices and Google results run on rotating residential exits. For app checks and mobile layouts pick mobile exits, which cost $0.50 more per GB; on Tanzanian phones, Android had 91.17% of traffic in September 2026. An ISP proxy suits accounts you run yourself within platform rules, since it keeps one static address for the whole rental; Tanzanian stock is shown on the order page.
Restrictions apply. Regulation 16(2) of the Online Content Regulations, 2020 bars rendering, possessing or distributing technology that allows or helps users to reach prohibited content, and in October 2023 TCRA told people and companies for whom VPN use is indispensable to declare their VPN and IP addresses, saying it would act against unauthorised use. Using AeonProxy from inside Tanzania as an undeclared VPN, or to reach prohibited content, is not supported. Collecting personal data also needs PDPC registration. Not legal advice.
A free proxy’s owner can read and store everything you send through it, logins included, and you would be trusting an operator you cannot identify. A genuine Tanzanian home or phone line looks up as AS37133 (Airtel), AS36908 (Vodacom), AS37035 (Yas) or AS327885 (Halotel); a data centre in that field means a server.
Enter four values in your browser extension, app or HTTP client: host gate.aeonproxy.com, port 7000, user ap_a1b2c3-cc-tz and your password. Adding -sid-dar01-time-1200 to the user name holds one exit for 20 minutes. For SOCKS5, see the docs; the free trial’s current terms are on the pricing page.
Mostly shillings. Kupatana, Kikuu and Air Tanzania’s domestic fares are in TZS. Air Tanzania prices international fares in dollars, and one property ad on Kupatana’s home page, for an apartment in Masaki, was in USD.
