Why Denmark

DBA, PriceRunner and the German and Nordic sites Danes use

Similarweb’s September 2026 ranking of Danish shopping sites opens with the classifieds site DBA and the comparison site PriceRunner, followed by jemogfix.dk, amazon.de and coop.dk. PriceRunner also leads the comparison category, where idealo.de is third. Norway’s finn.no and Sweden’s blocket.se rank third and fourth among classifieds.

About one Danish search in ten went to Bing in September 2026 (9.66%, against 84.84% for Google; StatCounter), so check Danish rankings on both engines. Most Danish page views still come from computers: 60.92% that month, against 37.02% from phones, and iOS had 62.82% of the mobile traffic. Test Danish pages on a desktop browser first, then on an iPhone.

Coverage

Copenhagen, Aarhus, Odense, Aalborg and the five regions

Regional shares of Denmark’s 6,031,699 residents on 1 July 2026 (Statistics Denmark), with the largest urban areas and other towns the exits come from. Region keys follow the English names that geolocation databases print: -st-capitalregion, -st-centraljutland, -st-southdenmark, -st-zealand, -st-northdenmark.

Urban areas: Statistics Denmark, 1 January 2026 (BY1); regions: 1 July 2026 (FOLK1A). Frederiksberg and Esbjerg have no city key, and the gateway answers 407 to them and to the Danish region name regionhovedstaden. ipinfo.io prints Aarhus as Århus. Geolocation databases disagree at city level, so look up an exit’s city in our IP checker before you use it.

Networks

TDC first, then Sinal, Telenor and Fibia

In APNIC’s estimate TDC’s network alone reaches 37.80% of Danish internet users, and 44.84% together with Hiper and Dansk Kabel TV, which belong to the same group. Norlys runs two networks: Sinal, its fibre company, and AS3308, the network Telia used to run.

For developers

Aarhus in Central Jutland, verified in code

Keys for Danish regions and cities come after -cc-dk. ipinfo.io prints English region names and the older spelling Århus, so the code maps each key to the name the lookup prints, after it has checked the country.

import requests, uuid
GATE = "gate.aeonproxy.com:7000"
# region keys -> the region names ipinfo.io prints
REGION = {"capitalregion": "Capital Region", "centraljutland": "Central Jutland", "southdenmark": "South Denmark",
          "zealand": "Zealand", "northdenmark": "North Denmark"}
# city keys -> the city names ipinfo.io prints; it still spells Aarhus the old way
CITY = {"copenhagen": "Copenhagen", "aarhus": "Århus", "odense": "Odense", "aalborg": "Aalborg"}

def danish_exit(region, city=None, tries=6):
    for _ in range(tries):
        keys = f"-st-{region}" + (f"-city-{city}" if city else "")
        proxy = f"http://ap_a1b2c3-cc-dk{keys}-sid-{uuid.uuid4().hex[:8]}-time-21600:PASS@{GATE}"
        try:
            geo = requests.get("https://ipinfo.io/json", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=15).json()
        except requests.RequestException:
            continue # no answer: the next try opens a new session
        if geo.get("country") != "DK":
            continue # the 3 network also carries Swedish ranges
        if geo.get("region") == REGION.get(region) and (city is None or geo.get("city") == CITY.get(city)):
            return proxy, geo # reuse this proxy URL for up to 6 hours
    return None, None

proxy, geo = danish_exit("centraljutland", "aarhus")
if proxy:
    print(geo["ip"], geo["city"], geo["region"], geo["org"])

City keys in the gateway’s lists: copenhagen, aarhus, odense, aalborg. Names outside the lists get a 407. A Danish exit’s network shows up in the org field, since ISP and carrier keys are limited to the US, the UK and Germany: AS3292 is TDC, AS9158 Telenor, AS3308 Norlys and AS44034 the 3 network.

A Danish quirk

Telia is now Norlys, and lookups still print Telia

Registry and geolocation data lag behind the renames, so a Norlys exit can still look like Telia.

Norlys Mobil

Telia Mobil Danmark took the name Norlys Mobil. It ended 2025 with 13.82% of Danish mobile subscriptions.

Sinal

Norlys renamed its fibre company Sinal. The network then reached over 900,000 addresses, 40% of the country, mostly in Jutland, and 14 internet providers sold service on it.

Norlys Telco

Norlys Digital A/S became Norlys Telco A/S. It holds AS3308, still registered as TELIANET-DENMARK, and ipinfo.io prints “AS3308 TELIANET DENMARK” for its addresses.

Region Østdanmark

The Capital Region and Zealand merge into Region Østdanmark, seated in Sorø, with 46.6% of today’s population.

Data protection, VPNs and court-ordered blocks in Denmark

The GDPR applies in Denmark together with the Data Protection Act (databeskyttelsesloven, lov nr. 502 of 23 May 2018), in force since 25 May 2018. Datatilsynet supervises both, and § 41 of the Act provides for fines or up to six months in prison for listed breaches. Sellers’ names and numbers on DBA or Boligsiden count as personal data although anyone can read them.

Danish law neither bans VPNs or proxies nor requires a licence for them. A draft copyright bill had a VPN section; on 15 December 2025 the Ministry of Culture said it would take that section out before the bill was introduced, as the government does not want to make ordinary, lawful VPN use illegal.

Internet providers block services that a Danish court has found illegal, under a code of conduct between the Telecom Industry Association and the Rights Alliance. Using AeonProxy to reach a blocked service is not supported.

Not legal advice. Our guide to scraping in court covers the cases from 2022 to 2026.

Denmark proxy questions

An address on a Danish network, usually a home or mobile connection, that your requests go out through, so sites see a visitor in Denmark. You need one to follow PriceRunner positions, collect DBA and Boligsiden asking prices or see a Danish shop of your own as Danes do.

14K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. Mobile exits run on the TDC, 3, Telenor and Norlys networks where the pool has them, with no separate count of Danish mobile IPs; the order page lists what is available.

Yes: every region has a key, and four cities do, where available. Regions: -st-capitalregion, -st-centraljutland, -st-southdenmark, -st-zealand, -st-northdenmark. Cities: -city-copenhagen, -city-aarhus, -city-odense, -city-aalborg. Frederiksberg and Esbjerg have no city key, so ask for the Capital Region or South Denmark instead. Lookup databases disagree about towns, so confirm the city of each exit in our IP checker.

Homes and phones across Denmark, on TDC above all: APNIC puts it at 37.80% of Danish users, then Sinal at 12.35%, Telenor at 11.27%, Fibia at 8.21%, 3 at 7.04% and Norlys Telco at 5.84%. Smaller ones include Hiper, Altibox, Fastspeed, Kviknet and housing networks such as Parknet. A network cannot be picked in the login: ISP keys exist only for the US, the UK and Germany.

Not under that name. Telia Mobil Danmark became Norlys Mobil in May 2025, and Norlys Telco A/S now holds AS3308, the network Telia ran. Lookups still print its registry name, TELIANET DENMARK, so read such an exit as Norlys.

3’s Danish customers are on AS44034, which is registered in Sweden to Hi3G Access AB and also carries Tre Sweden’s ranges. In ipinfo.io lookups on 29 October 2026, some addresses in 3’s Danish ranges came back in Sweden, among them one named …bredband.3.dk, placed in Stockholm. Go by the country field: the Python tab drops every exit that is not DK.

On 1 January 2027 the Capital Region and Zealand become Region Østdanmark. Today the keys -st-capitalregion and -st-zealand match what lookups print. Once geolocation databases switch to the new region, check the dashboard generator for the current list.

For DBA, PriceRunner and search work, rotating residential exits; for apps and phone layouts, mobile exits. An ISP IP stays fixed while you rent it, for your own accounts within platform rules, and the order page shows Danish availability.

No Danish law licenses or bans proxies or VPNs. Still, the GDPR and the Data Protection Act reach any personal data you collect, internet providers block services a Danish court has found illegal, and site terms apply. Not legal advice.

Anything sent through a free proxy can be read and stored by the person running it. Look the address up first: if its network is a hosting company such as M247 or Amazon, both of which appear in APNIC’s Danish table, the “Danish” proxy is a data-centre server. Our IP checker names the network and its type; send no password through a proxy like that.

Your client needs four values: the host gate.aeonproxy.com, port 7000, your password and the login ap_a1b2c3-cc-dk, to which region, city and session keys are appended, as the Python tab does. The docs cover SOCKS5; the free trial and its current terms are described on the pricing page.
