Why Bosnia and Herzegovina

PIK classifieds, KM price tags and regional news portals

olx.ba, now branded PIK, carries ads for everything from flats and houses to used cars and reports more than 3 million registered users and over 4 million active listings. In Ahrefs’ October 2026 ranking of sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina by estimated search traffic it is fifth overall and first in shopping.

Bosnian prices are in convertible marks, written KM or BAM. On 31 October 2026 the car search on olx.ba listed a VW Passat at 27.500 KM, and Sport Vision showed prices such as 229,00 BAM. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina runs a currency board and quoted the euro at 1.95583 KM that day.

Portals from neighbouring countries rank close to klix.ba (9th) and avaz.ba (11th): kurir.rs is 12th, 24sata.hr 14th and blic.rs 15th. On desktops Bing took 8.45% of Bosnian searches in September 2026, against 3.30% on all devices and 95.27% for Google (StatCounter). For rank checks on both engines from a Bosnian address, see SERP proxies.

For developers

Pick an m:tel group exit by its ASN

Each try opens a new half-hour session on -cc-ba. The script rejects any exit whose country is not BA and labels the rest by ASN, counting Blicnet and Logosoft addresses as m:tel.

import requests, uuid
GATE = "gate.aeonproxy.com:7000"
# Country key only. Group exits by ASN: Blicnet and Logosoft are m:tel companies,
# and lookups print registry names such as "Telekomunikacije Republike Srpske".
GROUP = {"AS9146": "BH Telecom", "AS25144": "m:tel", "AS21107": "m:tel", "AS16178": "m:tel",
         "AS42560": "Telemach", "AS20875": "HT Eronet"}

def bosnian_exit(network=None, tries=8):
    for _ in range(tries):
        sid = uuid.uuid4().hex[:8]
        proxy = f"http://ap_a1b2c3-cc-ba-sid-{sid}-time-1800:PASS@{GATE}"
        try:
            geo = requests.get("https://ipinfo.io/json", proxies={"http": proxy, "https": proxy}, timeout=15).json()
        except requests.RequestException:
            continue # timed out: try a new session
        if geo.get("country") != "BA":
            continue                              # Bosnian exits only
        asn = geo.get("org", "").split(" ")[0]
        name = GROUP.get(asn, "local ISP")
        if network is None or name == network:
            return proxy, geo, name # held for 30 minutes
    return None, None, None

proxy, geo, name = bosnian_exit("m:tel")
if proxy:
    print(geo["ip"], geo.get("city"), geo.get("region"), name)

Pass "BH Telecom", "Telemach" or "HT Eronet" for another network, or None for any Bosnian exit. -time- is counted in seconds, 60 to 21600, and a login with no -sid- rotates on every request.

A Bosnian quirk

Mobile and cable changes, 2024 to 2027

More brands now sell mobile service on the three licensed networks, and BH Telecom is buying Telemach, the leading cable operator.

Blicnet adds mobile

RAK lists Blicnet as a mobile service provider on m:tel’s network; it starts selling in May.

Cable mergers

HKB Net, M&H Company and KATV HS merge into Telemach BH, and RAK withdraws their licences.

Telemach deal approved

The Competition Council conditionally allows BH Telecom to take over Telemach BH; in June 2026 the deal was in its final phase.

Novotel grows

In RAK data reported by Raport.ba, Novotel has 3.73% of mobile users, up from 2.06% a year earlier, and BH Telecom 40.98%, down from 44.51%.

5G licences planned

BH Telecom’s annual report plans for 5G licences at the end of 2026 and 5G networks in 2027. It is also preparing to switch off 3G to free capacity for 4G+.

Data protection and computer crime law in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Law on Personal Data Protection (Official Gazette of BiH No. 12/25), adopted in January 2025, brings Bosnian law in line with the GDPR and replaces the 2006 law. The Personal Data Protection Agency in Bosnia and Herzegovina enforces it, with fines of up to BAM 40,000,000 or 4% of worldwide turnover (article 113). Names and phone numbers in PIK ads are personal data; store prices and categories without them.

No Bosnian rule we could find requires registration or a licence to use a VPN or proxy, or bans such use. Unauthorised access is a crime under both entity criminal codes. Article 397 of the Federation’s Criminal Code punishes entering a computer system or network by breaching its protection with a fine or up to one year in prison, and using data obtained that way with up to three years. Article 411 of Republika Srpska’s Criminal Code of 2017 sets a fine or up to six months, and up to two years for recording or using such data.

Bosnia and Herzegovina proxy questions

Your requests leave through a Bosnian home or mobile connection, so sites answer as they would for someone in Sarajevo or Banja Luka. Use one for olx.ba listings in KM, google.ba rankings, the ads Bosnian portals show, or a check of your own Bosnian pages.

30K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026, a count that moves as households go online and offline. Mobile exits have no figure of their own. They run on BH Telecom, m:tel and HT Eronet where the pool has them; see the order page for what is available today.

The logins on this page set the country, -cc-ba, and the dashboard generator shows any regions and cities on offer, where available. You can also filter after connecting, on the region and city a lookup returns. Databases often disagree about towns, so open each exit in our IP checker before relying on it.

From homes and phones on BH Telecom, m:tel, Telemach and HT Eronet, which APNIC credits with 85.76% of Bosnian users, and on regional ISPs such as Blicnet and TXTV. Network keys would let you choose, but they work only in the US, the UK and Germany; tell Bosnian exits apart by the ASN in a lookup.

Lookups print the holder registered for an ASN. m:tel’s AS25144 is registered as Telekomunikacije Republike Srpske, HT Eronet’s AS20875 as JP HT d.d. Mostar, and BH Telecom’s AS9146 carries the name BIHNET. Blicnet (AS21107) and Logosoft (AS16178) are m:tel subsidiaries, and the Python tab counts them as m:tel.

Residential exits on rotation suit olx.ba listings, shop prices and google.ba results. Mobile exits, at $0.50 more per GB, are for app checks, and Android ran 75.58% of Bosnian mobile traffic in September 2026. A static ISP address suits your own accounts within each platform’s rules, and the order page shows Bosnian stock.

We found no Bosnian law that regulates VPN or proxy use as such. Breaking into a protected computer system is a crime under article 397 of the Federation’s Criminal Code and article 411 of Republika Srpska’s, and personal data falls under the 2025 Law on Personal Data Protection. Not legal advice.

A free proxy hands your traffic, passwords included, to someone you cannot identify, who can read and keep it. If you test one anyway, look at the ASN: AS9146, AS25144, AS42560 or AS20875 point to a Bosnian home or mobile line, while a hosting company’s name means a data-centre address.

Enter gate.aeonproxy.com and port 7000 as the HTTP proxy in a browser extension, app or script, with the user name ap_a1b2c3-cc-ba and your password. Adding -sid-sjj01-time-7200 keeps one exit for two hours. SOCKS5 settings are in the docs, and the current free-trial terms on the pricing page.

In convertible marks, shown as KM or BAM: olx.ba and Bosnian shops price that way. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina runs a currency board, and on 31 October 2026 it quoted 1.95583 KM per euro. Keep the currency code with every price you store.
