Why Fiji

What a Fijian IP is used for: shop prices, job ads and local search

Local retail

Courts, MH Online and Jack’s of Fiji

All three sell online. Courts covers televisions, computers, bedding and appliances, and listed a Diwali catalogue on 3 November 2026. MH Online, part of Carpenters Fiji, asks shoppers to select a store, and Jack’s of Fiji prices its clothing in FJD.

Foreign retail

Shein, Amazon and eBay lead shopping

Ahrefs Top ranks them 33rd, 37th and 52nd in Fiji for October 2026, by estimated search traffic, and its shopping list holds no Fijian store. A seller abroad can open its own listing the way a buyer in Fiji would.

Work

myjobsfiji.com at 39th

Ahrefs Top’s jobs and education list for Fiji starts with two universities, fnu.ac.fj and usp.ac.fj, then myjobsfiji.com. Its ads give a date, contract type, employer and place, so hiring can be tracked by town.

Search

Bing at 26.7% on desktops

StatCounter gives Google 90.13% of Fijian searches in October 2026 and 98.88% of those on phones. Bing’s share on desktops means desktop rank checks need both engines; see SERP proxies. Phones made 60.71% of page views, 85.88% of them on Android.

Coverage

Suva, Nasinu, Lautoka, Nadi and the next Fijian towns

The 2017 census counted 884,887 people, 55.9% of them in urban areas. Suva and Nasinu together held 185,920, or 21.01% of the country. Logins set the country alone through -cc-fj. Look in the dashboard generator for the regions and towns on offer.

Residents: Fiji Bureau of Statistics, census Administrative Report 2018, tables 2.1 to 2.3. The census provinces add up to Central 378,148, Western 337,071, Northern 131,918, Eastern 36,156 and Rotuma 1,594, which GeoNames lists on its own. Rollout phases: the plan the Fiji Times reported on 11 September 2025, when all three operators got 5G licences. Where available, exits come from homes and phones in Suva, Nadi, Nasinu, Lautoka and Nausori. Databases can disagree about a town, so open the exit in our IP checker before you rely on one.

Networks

Vodafone Fiji, Digicel Fiji and Telecom Fiji

Three networks lead APNIC Labs’ estimate. Amalgamated Telecom Holdings owns two of them, Vodafone Fiji and Telecom Fiji.

Users: APNIC Labs, 1 November 2026, 60-day window. APNIC estimates each network separately, so its 15 Fijian networks add up to 109.94%. Telecom Fiji’s second ASN, AS45349, has 0.03%; satellite, hosting, content-delivery, university, government and airport networks are left out, and so is Fintel at 0.05%. Developing Telecoms put Vodafone at over 850,000 subscribers and about 85% of the market on 11 September 2025, and wrote that Digicel Fiji had released no subscriber numbers. The regulator, TAF, counted 151.10 active mobile-broadband subscriptions per 100 people from July to September 2024, against 1.90 for fixed wired broadband. Network keys are a US, UK and German option, so read the ASN in a lookup here.

For developers

A checked Fijian exit, and one shelf price with VAT taken out

The login holds a Fijian exit (-cc-fj) for half an hour, once a lookup confirms the country is FJ. A short helper reads all three price formats and removes the 12.5% VAT.

import re, requests, uuid

Reading Fijian prices

Prices printed three ways, with VAT inside them

Sites in Fiji print prices in at least three forms. Courts and MH Online use a bare dollar sign, “$ 529.00” and “$ 2.97”, with no currency code in the text a shopper reads. Jack’s of Fiji prints “109.00 FJD”, and South Sea Cruises “from FJ$185”. Courts’ page source sets its store currency to FJD. MH Online’s names none, so calling its “$” the Fijian dollar is our reading: it is a Fijian store and shows no other currency.

FRCS, the revenue service, tells registered businesses to display prices with VAT included. The rate has been 12.5% since 1 August 2025 and was 15% from 1 August 2023, so a price series that crosses 1 August 2025 mixes two tax rates. The VAT inside a price at the present rate is one ninth of it, which takes a $ 529.00 tablet to 470.22 before tax.

Zero-rated goods carry no VAT, so keep the product category beside each figure.

Privacy and computer access rules in Fiji

Fiji has no act dedicated to personal data and no data-protection authority, according to DLA Piper’s handbook (19 March 2026). Clause 24 of the 2013 Constitution gives a right to personal privacy, and Cabinet has endorsed a National Privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy as the basis for future legislation. Leave names and phone numbers out of price or vacancy datasets.

Section 5 of the Cybercrime Act 2021 (Act No. 3 of 2021) makes it an offence to secure access to a computer system knowing that the access is unauthorised. An individual faces a fine of up to $10,000, up to five years in prison, or both, and a company a fine of up to $50,000. The act does not mention proxies or VPNs, and nothing else we read licenses or bans their use. Gambling and betting sites are not a supported use.

Fiji proxy questions

A Fiji proxy sends your requests out through a connection in Fiji, so the site you open treats you as a visitor there. People use one to record shelf prices on Courts or MH Online, follow vacancies on myjobsfiji.com, check results for gl=fj, or see their own Fijian ads and pages from inside the country.

7K+ residential IPs in the pool, October 2026. The number moves during the day with the households online. Mobile has no count of its own; its exits run on Vodafone Fiji and Digicel Fiji where the pool has them, and the order page shows what is available.

The login picks only the country, -cc-fj, and the dashboard generator shows any Fijian regions and towns on offer, where available. To work with one town, read the city field of a lookup, then confirm it in our IP checker, because place data at town level varies between databases.

Vodafone, Digicel and Telecom Fiji, with APNIC shares of 69.22%, 27.41% and 8.76%, are the networks people in Fiji use, and exits come from homes and phones on them. Only US, UK and German logins can choose a network. Here the ASN in a lookup tells you which you got: AS38442, AS45355 or AS4638.

Those are the two options for Fiji; the order page lists the countries where static ISP and datacenter IPs are on sale. Residential suits listings, shelf prices and search results. Mobile, $0.50 dearer per GB at every tier, suits app checks and mobile layouts.

Residential traffic is $3.49 per GB from 1 GB and falls to $1.69 at 1,000 GB or more. Mobile runs from $3.99 to $2.19 on the same steps. Traffic never expires. A free trial exists, and the pricing page has every tier and the current trial terms.

The Cybercrime Act 2021 says nothing about proxies or VPNs, and no other Fijian text we read licenses or bans them. Its section 5 does cover access you know to be unauthorised, by any route. Not legal advice.

Nobody can tell you who runs one, and its operator can log or alter whatever passes through, logins included. Run the address through a lookup first. A Fijian line shows AS38442, AS45355 or AS4638 with country FJ; a cloud or hosting company’s name there means a rented server.

Put gate.aeonproxy.com and port 7000 into the HTTP proxy fields of a browser extension, app or script, with ap_a1b2c3-cc-fj as username and your password. Append -sid-suv01-time-7200 to the username to keep an exit for two hours. SOCKS5 details are in the docs.

Courts and MH Online do not say in the text a shopper reads. Courts’ page source sets its store currency to FJD and MH Online’s names none; we read both as the Fijian dollar, since these are Fijian stores showing no other currency. Other sites write FJD or FJ$. Store the currency yourself when you collect prices. Shelf prices already include VAT of 12.5%, unless the item is exempt or zero-rated.

That depends on the network. In APNIC’s table to 2 November 2026, 60.94% of users on Vodafone’s network were IPv6-capable, against 3.36% on Telecom Fiji’s and 0.15% on Digicel’s. The whole country went from 0.27% in November 2023 to 31.89% a year later.
